"The more time passed, the more he lost of what made him himself. But every so often, he’d crack a joke, just like before. Just like those rare moments when he wasn’t being cruel to us, when he was being a good dad who could make his family laugh." -Niki Fakhoori

If you've got a problem with FFVII-R's Chadley, you've got a problem with autistic people. And I suggest you let that one marinate, bud.

One of the most bleak turns of the industry is Level 5's adoption and full-throated support and usage of AI. RIP to some of our favorite IPs. There is an official boycott of Level 5, who used to be my (Col here) favorite studio of all time. Don't support studios using AI to produce their "art".

#edit the website being used to organize a boycott has gone dark as of 3:30 EST 9.14.2026. We'll post any further updates we find. Hopefully someone takes up that original mantle.

We were lucky enough to publish Sam Vu Nguyen's premier piece on grind-set and being perceived last month. And now it had been featured on the newest round up of @critdistance.bsky.social! Congratulations are in order to Sam, and a thank you to CD for featuring another work from our site!

Sam Vu Nguyen is a 21-year-old second generation Vietnamese Australian with ADHD whose new piece grapples with perfectionism, masking, and the "need to be observed as legitimate, normal, or real" through the eyes of Ava in The Game Bakers' 2026 game Cairn.

We're honored to publish Sam's new piece this month. Sam is a young writer of immense talent with an unbridled, perceptive voice who has that ever-sought-after *something to say that matters*.

Infinity is a Game Boy Color game by Affinix Team that was canceled before its 2002 release window, as the scene had moved on to GBA. The development saga is as epic as the game's own narrative, and it pushes the GBC to its absolute limits. Melancholy awaits. I'm obsessed @incube8games.bsky.social

I can't believe a gAmeDHD GOTY list was requested, but here it be! "We’re all strangers until we’re not, [#1 GOTY spoiler redacted] posits, as it ponders what happens to our souls and society when we begin to lose human connection." Y'all asked for it: Ko-fi.com/gamedhd I love you. Go play a game

At the risk of spoiling my #1, thank you to @sweaters.bsky.social for my favorite experience of the year. Your game simultaneously ruined me and saturated my soul with hope. No game has impacted me quite so viscerally, like... ever.

Hi there, new followers! We're glad you found us! We're a little online pub/blog/zine writing about the neurodivergent experience and the videogames we play and love. Love seeing journalists for big outlets examining what we examine what we over here at gAmeDHD are all about. "One commenter captured what I was worried about: 'This is the same rhetoric used when people say that “everyone is queer these days'."

I finally got caught up on Season 2 of the Playdate, and boy-howdy is it a doozy. Each of the first three weeks have offered up some primo game-ature for your little yellow handheld (not to mention Blipo+). The ADHD Console reigns supreme yet again. Stay tuned to Blipo+ and gAmeDHD. Love you!

I've spent about 45 days researching and preparing this expansive look at games media from an outsider freak's perspective, and I've really only learned three things thus far:

2. Games journalists and critics are the hardiest and sturdiest and most resourceful set of creatives out there. As a group *and* as individuals. They don't know what "can't" means.

3. I don't know shit 'bout nothin', but there has been a contingency of writers who have given me a few keys to the kingdom, and I'm beyond grateful.

We can't stop playing. An incredible feeling. Will the Man Get Frog? @marechalbanane.bsky.social strikes hard.

@marechalbanane.bsky.social 's game "Will the Man Get Frog" will force you to sound smart. I built a handheld pico8 machine, and this is all me and @pastaslut3000.bsky.social are stuck playing.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is *peak* societal critique and commentary. If you thought it was, what I've seen described as "popcorn anime bullshit"... I just can't connect with you. Xenoblade proves that everyone has worth. The fact that that's foundational knowledge some ppl lack is, like, super spooky.

And that's not even touching on the whole "eat the ruling class" part of Xenoblade 3's ethos. Plus it gives you the most fun class system since FF Tactics. Absolute perfection, no notes.

There's something magical about seeing a #UFO50 game level fully compiled into one image. I love being able to see the intention behind entries in my overall favorite game of all time (tied with FFXIV). Very cool stuff!

Here's your fascinating gaming history fact of the day. Apparently the original release of Deltarune would delete the entire folder it was kept in if you ran the Uninstaller. Absolutely wild.

Dominic Tarason@dominictarason.com

To clarify, it was indiscriminately deleting the folder it was in. So if anyone installed it accidentally to just C:\Games instead of \Games\Deltarune, it would nuke everything in there. x.com/tobyfox/stat...
