It’s #IrishBookWeek! 📚🌱 This time last year, I hadn’t written a book. Now Nature’s Acre, a memoir about a garden in County Meath and the lives it has touched, is finding readers around the world. Thank you to the independent Irish bookshops helping make that possible. #IrishBooks #IrishBookWeek

My parents went to Kenny's when they visited Ireland and said it was indeed a treasure trove. They brought some art books back for me.

I had a lovely chat with Ruth Medjber in my greenhouse today about gardening, wildlife, family and how a chance phone call changed our lives. Some laughter, a few stories, and the beginnings of what became Nature’s Acre. The book tells what happened next. 🌱 podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/s...

Picking up a book because its cover catches your eye. Feeling its weight. Turning the pages. Reading the first paragraph. A bookseller recommending something you'd never have discovered yourself. You can't quite recreate that feeling on a screen.

A child who visits this garden calls it “my happy place”. Another described it as “like a dreamland”. We didn’t set out to teach children to garden. We just gave them a place where life was everywhere.
