Last few weeks I’ve had my first taste of actual paid work as a freelance photographer (outside of doing stuff for friends and family). It is gruelling hard work for very little pay, but I’m actually enjoying what I do for once. It’s a strange feeling, but a good one. #photographer #freelance

As an aussie, can I just say I’m not here to fuck spiders. But as an opportunist let me also say, never look a gift horse in the mouth. That’s my thought of the day.

I just remembered, the first time I played Pokemon GSC all I had was a buggy rom that didn’t work with the emulator internal clock. So my entire experience with Gen2 the game was stuck in perpetual night. This observation brought to you by medically supervised withdrawal from antidepressants.

I have tried so hard to “do the right thing” wrt dumping Adobe products, but it is absolutely torpedoing my workflow. Particularly on iOS. Between LR for organising and the fluidity of the Apple Pencil for editing, I can’t find a substitute.

Upshot the first: I found the song after listening to hundreds of 70s and 80s Japanese funk and disco songs. (It was Kanpoo by Yumi Murata off her 1983 album Drywindasian)

Had a song stuck in my head I hadn’t heard for two years. Didn’t know the name, didn’t remember the artist or lyrics. So what do I do? Listen to almost the entire genre of course.

Only the seat here is really a migrant, but the birds are great to see out and about too. The white fluffball is an owlet nightjar, Australia’s smallest nocturnal bird and often quite hard to spot as they spend the daytime roosting in hollows.
