Opening the Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival on 10/24, April & I will bring together original acoustic music and expressive movement. My heartfelt songs weave guitar, Harpejji, and vocals into intimate musical journeys, while April brings the music to life through mesmerizing flow arts, hoop, and dance.

Together, we create a playful, soulful experience where music and movement intertwine, inviting the audience into the magic of the Surreal Sirkus.

We have a lot of volunteers signed up for helping with the Surreal Sirkus arts festival, but are still looking for a few spots.

On iPhone and iPad the notes appear where your fingers rest and stay under your hand, adapting to you as you play, no need to look at the screen to find notes.

On Vision Pro you play it in the air with your bare hands, no controller: pinch a fingertip for a note, raise your hand for volume, push forward for brightness, and move sideways to bend.

Last year, April and I created a flow piece for The Surreal Sirkus Frequinox show, set to the music of Pan Door. It told a sweet story, and the video is in the comments.

Tomorrow, Sunday, September 20th, we’ll be performing again at Frequinox 2. I’ll play an original piece live on Harpejji and vocals while April weaves a mesmerizing tapestry of movement with her hoop.

RIFE2 is a full-stack web framework for Java, in one jar with zero dependencies. Routing, templates, forms, htmx, server-sent events and a database layer, all in plain Java. Fifteen examples on the site show the code and run it live. rife2.com #RIFE2 #Java #WebDev

rife2.comRIFE2 - Full-stack, no-declaration web framework for modern JavaRIFE2 is a full-stack, no-declaration framework to quickly and effortlessly create web applications with modern Java. No dependencies, a single 2.5MB jar, Java 17+.

On 9/20, Surreal Sirkus is returning for Frequinox 2, with performances by Surreal Sirkus, sets by an all-star lineup of Asheville DJs (iXNéE, Sensoma, and Mr. Burns) and a live PA by our own house Mugician, Logos.

As our duo Fire Path, April will dance and hoop, while I perform an original song on the harpejjj and vocals. So come out to support Surreal Sirkus and leave with one of the first copies of The Tale of the Cosmic Eggs, OST.

RIFE2 1.10.0 is out! Server-sent events, htmx support, CSRF protection, database migrations, and ahead-of-time instrumentation so continuations run without a java agent, even in GraalVM native images. Still one jar, still zero dependencies.

bld 3.0.0 is out! Parallel dependency resolution, BOM support, and an MCP server so AI agents can drive your build. Still one jar, still pure Java.

MIDI Tape Recorder 2.0 is out! MTR now also runs standalone on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with CoreMIDI in and out and autosaved sessions. The tape keeps rolling in the background and with the screen locked.

Glinster is a musical instrument and MIDI controller for Apple Vision Pro that you play with your bare hands in the air, without any controller.

Touching your thumb to a fingertip plays a note in a scale and releasing it stops the note, turning your palm reaches the rest of the scale, and while a note plays you raise your hand to make it louder, push forward to make it brighter, and move sideways to bend the pitch.

I'm really excited about what my RouteMIDI tool allows through its MCP server, integrated into Claude Desktop. You can just talk to the LLM to connect MIDI devices together and manipulate their MIDI streams. You can find out more about RouteMIDI here: github.com/gbevin/Route...

To complement my SendMIDI and ReceiveMIDI tools, I've created RouteMIDI: a multi-platform command-line tool to connect MIDI ports together, optionally filtering, transforming and converting MIDI messages along the way.

Thank you Luna for having been my unconditional friend and companion for 11 years. You traveled across the ocean with me, learned a second language, healed from three major surgeries, grew up with cats and adopted 8 of them as family, ...

embraced everyone around me as being part of our pack and brought so much love and joy to my life. I'm glad I got the privilege to guide you through the end of your life and have you pass away in my arms. I will always love you! 🤍🤍🤍

Next Friday The Surreal Sirkus is having its second Surreal Sirkus Salon! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's acts and performances, and hope to see you there!

I finished writing and laying out the last piece of my 3D printed solo board game Dynamod Last Stand: the instruction booklet! Now I can have my printers produce all the pieces for the complete game boxes while I do the remaining work to make this available for sale. Almost there!

Great turnout for my lecture about MPE at the Sigal Music Museum on Sunday. The audience was very engaged and curious, making great observations and asking plenty of good questions. It felt good to present again, it had been a while.

Getting ready to leave for my lecture about MPE at the Sigal Music Museum in Greenville. It looks like many people registered and it's going to be a good turnout! 🤩

Getting closer to finishing the design of the entry level board game in my 3D printed Dynamod series. This is a quick solo survival game where you fend off waves of randomized monsters while also changing the room layout.
