Our team continues to work hard on Cynder. The game features a diverse set of little guys you can play as, with some quick optional tables to build out things like appearance and traits. Here are just a few examples of how to make your character in Cynder. #TTRPG #tabletoproleplayinggames

I am happy to announce that Orobos Championship Tournament is now also available on #RPGTrader! This is our first book on that storefront and hopefully the first of many. This book was made possible by the awesome OCT community and our backers on Kickstarter. Thank you! rpgtrader.com/products/105...

I thought that wasn't going to load. Bluesky is very slow right now but the art prevails! Looking back, we used a lot of blue and purple in that book. A few synth waves and we could blend into the neon-soaked 80s.

Sure, this sounds like fun. #BirthdayPokemon Last digit of the day. Last digit of the month. Last digit of the year. 621 - It's Druddigon! I actually know that one, and considering how many have come out since, that is impressive.

The two biggest issues I identified with our campaign were lack of exposure/traffic and price point during a recession. I can do something about the latter first. Previous pledge tiers took into account 20% (total) fees and taxes. I can bring that down to 10% over cost and cover the rest later.

We will also return to KS with a lower funding goal. I can do that by accepting more of the development costs spread out over the months. This does mean it will take longer to make the game. I apologize for the wait. In a perfect world we would have all the funding we need to do it quicker instead.

Lastly, social media was the largest contributor to our campaign although we fell short. It felt like the algorithms hid us from view everywhere. We will continue to diversify with new official accounts on other platforms. The long outage on bluesky hit at a really bad time. Options are a must.

I want to be as transparent as possible about what we are doing and especially how we price things. Pledges should be affordable at their price point, while also not incurring a loss for us because that defeats the point of raising the money. If I can cover it without passing on the cost, I will.

Our book campaign unfortunately did not reach its goal. However, we will return to Kickstarter later this year to try again. Thank you so much to everyone who backed and supported our project. We could not have come this far without you. See you next time! www.kickstarter.com/projects/434...

kickstarter.comUpdate 6: Cynder Will Return · Cynder: Small Heroes and Town-Building RPGHi everyone. We unfortunately did not meet our funding goal in time, but that does not mean it is the end for Cynder. We will return to Kickstarter later this year with a revised approach and try agai...

It is now the final day of the campaign for Cynder and we are still about halfway from our goal, but we can reach it if we get a lot of new visitors. Help us make the book by backing or sharing and get more cool art like you see below. There will always be someone who discovers a new favorite. :)

The final big update to the Kickstarter is up with 3 days remaining in the campaign. It has even more art and handy adventuring tips to make sure you are prepared for the journeys ahead. Only a few more days to reach our goal with your help! www.kickstarter.com/projects/434... #ttrpg #kickstarter

Bluesky is working again on my desktop after being broken for several weeks due to a website update. We shall see if it stays working. The issue came at a bad time for us when we were trying to promote our game, but luckily I've been able to keep up with limited features in the mobile version.

We are now at the halfway point of our campaign and nearly halfway funded! We are right on track, but with your help we could push even further beyond. If you like town building and rolling dice, come check us out. We have cool art. :) www.kickstarter.com/projects/434...

Each weekend of the campaign for Cynder we will have an update showing off more art and materials for the game. We teased some of the tarot cards earlier this summer and in our next update you get to see them all. The art team did fantastic work here and I think you are going to like them. :)

Day 2 of the campaign. Thank you and welcome to everyone who has come to back the game so far!

Cynder is the culmination of 2 years of work by myself and a tremendous team of artists and partners. It takes inspiration from the kind of stories and adventures that had us staying up late when we were kids, playing or telling stories of our own. We always push our projects above and beyond. 1/

Cynder is our latest work to show the best of what we can do. From each book we learn and improve. None of this would be possible without our backers on Kickstarter and the people who play our games. Thank you all for over a decade of support. We have so much more to show you. -Nick 2/2

I googled “Lamplighter Games” to see what came up under the summary shown to people looking for us there. Wow. I think it got every single page, work, and fact incorrect and it made up a lot too. Makes it very difficult for people to actually learn about our books. Feels like we all fight uphill.

You get different responses for each of our new social pages. Multiverse theory in action, except in reality it is hyper expensive tech that does not work. Ha. We will always be around making games even if the internet collapses into spaghetti code slop. I’d be amused to hear what it says on yours.

Lamplighter Games now has an official instagram, tumblr, and deviantart. We also have facebook, youtube, reddit and discord. While I cannot be active on all of them, diversity strengthens our reach and helps protect us from website issues like the bluesky update. Thanks for watching. :)

Hi all. Bluesky updated midday yesterday and ceased support for certain computers. It sucks. No server-wide announcement or anything. Getting caught up now on phone. For anyone getting .canparse error it may be permanent. Phone app is a workaround but awkward typing.

The core loop of play in Cynder is thus: upgrade the town to equip and prepare your heroes, then explore and fight in the map to get loot and resources for the town. Quest objectives help guide you in both. In example, seeking out landmarks to gain perks with your patron. Why get stronger? 1/

Your ultimate goal is to beat a dungeon. They are a huge test of your skills and preparedness, with equally huge rewards. The most obvious is removing the Gloom (evil mist) around the dungeon so you can keep exploring and building your town. Every dungeon is surrounded by Gloom on the map. 2/2

Let the countdown to launch begin. We are 10 days out from the Kickstarter launch on September 1st for our next #TTRPG book. If you like playing kobolds, imps, and living puppets that build a town together, then come along and set sail for #Cynder! #SelfPromoSaturday

Thank you to everyone who has been testing, reading, and following along with us these past few months. Our team has worked really hard on this book and I cannot wait to share the whole thing with you all.
