Why is community support important for union action ❓ Over the decades, successful labor action has typically included the support of community members outside of the union. This can look like signing petitions, going to picket lines and rallies, helping with food for strikers, and more. 🧵

Over 9,000 @ufcw663.bsky.social members are negotiating new contracts and challenging unfair labor practices by UNFI/Cub Foods, the largest grocery store owner in Minneapolis. The union voted to reject a contract offer by employers who are not negotiating in good faith.

The Trump Administration’s proposed budget cuts threaten funding to programs that help Montana families stay healthy, including Medicaid. No Montanan should go to bed at night wondering if they’ll lose healthcare coverage or be able to access their providers.

Providers are under attack—and now, so are the protections that keep them safe. Over the weekend, Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed. Two more legislators were shot. And a hit list with abortion providers was found in the suspect’s car.

This on-again, off-again tug-of-war with OUR public lands needs to stop. Please don't stop at showing up at protests—put that leftover energy to use and call your reps! (Use the @5calls.org app, it makes it super easy.)

MT's tribal communities are facing cuts to vital food bank programs. Secretary Kennedy broke his promise to support healthy food access in Indian Country, slashing funding for programs that provide nutritious, locally-sourced meals. Our tribes deserve better, let's fight for their food security.
