Odd film photography related memory: a few years ago, my wife and I took the accessible tour of the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. Among the random stuff that previous visitors had left behind was a used Instamatic flash cube, untouched for Ford knows how many years.

I love this attitude so much. Thanks @booksandbows.bsky.social

At the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, they currently have a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit. No original works, but life size or larger prints of his paintings and mock ups of inventions from his notebooks. The picture here shows a huge attempt at building da Vinci's flying batwing device.

When I was in Chicago recently, I am pretty sure that I was the subject of someone's street photography. I had to smile. You keep on keeping on, little brother. #filmphotography #analogphotography #streetphotography #chicago

It's been far too long since my last time there, but I managed to make a visit, a kind of pilgrimage, to Chicago's Central Camera recently. #centralcamera #chicago #photography

A story about trendy old people hobbies that does NOT include film photography. Shocking! 🤣

After seeing the nice results @keithdevereux.bsky.social got from his Chaika II half frame camera, I thought I would get mine back out, and let my dog check it out. Maybe it will work better after he's had his fastidious little paw-paws on it.

Thought-provoking article on the recognition of analog photography as Intangible Cultural Heritage. In early February this year, the German Commission for UNESCO added Analogue Photography to the list of what it calls Intangible Cultural Heritage – ICH. #photography #history #filmisnotdead #analog

My new knee is a little over six weeks old, & yesterday I gave it a workout. I met with a bird photography class at a local nature preserve & walked the trail for close to two hours. I took my Spotmatic loaded with Fuji 400 & a 205mm zoom. For now, here's a phone snap of the trail. #believeinfilm

Still using a trekking pole to help me keep my balance, but otherwise, the new knee is coming along. There's still some pain 5 weeks in, but my range of motion is still increasing. I'm signed up for a bird photography session in ten days, and look forward to that. #believeinfilm #filmphotography

I takes pitchers and I also makes drawrings. Example here. #oilpastel #jeanrogers #sketchbook

It's one of the curiosities of my own mind as a film photographer that some of the clearest memories I have ever had come from photo walks when the film itself turned out blank. I remember all of those lost images, somehow.

I'm looking forward to being stable enough on my feet to go outside and take a bit of a photo walk. Perhaps another week or so. #filmphotography #believeinfilm #pentaxspotmatic #helios44-2 @notso-wild-bill.bsky.social

In the ortho hospital with a new titanium knee. I'll be on a walker for a while, but it's working well.

Knee replacement on the left knee today. Looking forward to some summer photo walks.
