Father's day with no father left to celebrate. I miss you dad. Father's day without my girl, she's with her mom, but she stopped by yesterday to drop some things off. Still sad, though. Spent the day sleeping in, gardening and starting the marvel universe movies. Just another day alone.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers that are doing their best. Who support their children to the best of their ability. Who love their children for who they are, not who they want them to be. Who accept their kids' emotions and needs. Who are there when their children need them. You deserve it

The #narcissist 's lies. To maintain their false self-image, someone with #NPD will lie often to maintain that image. It's not pathological, it's with intent and forethought. When they fear exposure, the lies will become more blatant and obvious, even when confronted with evidence to the contrary

Unlike a pathological liar, who lies seemingly without intent and at random, someone with NPD will lie as part of their false identity; it hides their true self. My mother would often get caught in her lies, then tell even more lies to cover up the first lies. Exposure causes them to flail and...

...sputter, become angry or rageful. They will even try to turn the lies towards you, saying hurtful, untrue things about your behaviour. Recognize that confronting someone with NPD with their lies will not go as you expect, even with facts. Denial, deflection, and anger is all you'll get.

It's been 22 years, today, since my partner and I opened our business. It's started as a small music store. It grew over the years to include a tattoo & piercing shop, even an art gallery. Then we opened our cannabis store, moved the businesses together into a single building to be a small...

...mall of everything cool. Over the years we sold all kinds of music paraphernalia, spray paint and tips, vinyl new and old, held concerts and after hours parties, sponsored 100s of events. But now, we're separated. It's sad and melancholic. We had everything. She threw it away.

Let my 13 year old daughter drive home from the bus stop for the first time today. We live on a rural road so there is no traffic. They have graduated licensing starting at age 14 here. She did great. A long way from when I used to let her sit in my lap and steer. They grow so fast.

Manufacturing Empathy This is another NPD tactic and my mother employed it all the time. Typically a covert tactic, it can be used by the grandiose. It is a practice of creating a crisis to gain sympathy and attention. During holidays or events my mother would garner sympathy by feigning an...

...insistence. The doctors did repeated testing and struggled to with the diagnosis since it appeared to come and go. They relented and agreed. But a few years ago, it went into remission. While I understand that this is possible, it has never come back and there are no current signs of MS...

...Her diagnosis came during the years my sister wad struggling the most. The guilt weighed on her that it was her fault, but now I question it entirely. I now believe that my mother faked her illness to be the centre of attention in the family, and my sister paid the price. #NPD #empathy
