After the campus site at N.C. State was moved 1.2 miles away to make it inconvenient for college students to vote, many NCSU students adapted, see message I just got from one. Votes will be in other counties rather than Wake, may have more impact in competitive #ncga races. #ncpol

An advantage to NC early voting rather than election day is voter can easily report an address change within county and get the right ballot. On election day the voter may have to use a time-consuming provisional ballot. In Wake Co of 211,003 early voters thru Mon, 6,500+ reported an address change.

In NC, 164,465 voters thru Mon, Oct 25 applied for absentee ballots, and 65,841 (40%) successfully voted them. Another 12,296 (7.5%) (including 1,296 Monday) chose instead to early vote and discarded their ballots. (doing that automatically spoils their absentee ballot). #ncpol

Apropos of persons with N.C. absentee ballots choosing to discard them and early vote as some have suggested, thru Oct 21 here are the stats: 162,222 absentees sent to voters 51,096 successfully voted (31.5%) 7,589 voters instead chose to early vote (4.7%) #ncpol

For those deciding WHICH day to early vote, typically the second Thursday (that’s TODAY) has the lowest weekday turnout (in 2022 true statewide and in Wake County). Today would be a GOOD day to vote, turnout should ramp up tomorrow, hit the peak of lines Oct 29-31 #ncpol
