That's it: #GfE2026 #GfESEBDDSDB2026 is over. Thanks for the science, talks, posters, chairing, discussions, helpers in back & front. See you latest at #GfE2028 for more #DevBio & oidsks for all the fish, plants, mice, worm, flies, frogs, squids, brown algae, human, -oids, whatnots and you.

This prize recognizes his outstanding role as a successful early-career scientist in German developmental biology. In his groundbreaking scientific research, Maik Bischoff contributed to elucidating molecular and cellular mechanisms during collective cell migration of muscle cells in Drosophila.

Andreas Wodarz warmheartedly introduces Elisabeth Knust, the winner of the Klaus Sander Award of #GfE2026 for her lifetime achievements in devbio. Her groundbreaking scientific research contributed to elucidating molecular & cellular mechanisms underlying development of epithelial cell polarity.

In her award lecture, Elisabeth Knust provides an overview of the history of developmental biology but also highlights the privilege to perform curiosity driven research, which is only possible with the support of colleagues, students, family & friends with their encouraging and challenging thoughts

The 1st shared José A. Campos-Ortega Award Lecture is given by Noelia Antón Bolaños "Navigating cortical development: From animal systems to human brain models" demonstrating that genetic variety in so-called "chimeroids" is providing robustness by averaging out line and batch effects #GfE2026
