GWC is proud to announce our partnership with the American Weather Enterprise Association (AWEA) because weather impacts literally everyone -- and it's time for an organization to advocate for the weather enterprise in a sustained, unified way. More info in thread ⬇️

If we want to respond to the risks we face due to severe weather impacts in the U.S. (& maintain our reputation as a research leader in this area), it is crucial we continue to invest in & improve the resources (e.g., data, radar infrastructure, mesonets) we all rely on in the weather enterprise.

AWEA will help ensure that investment in the continuation and improvement of these critical resources will continue for years to come, and we’re proud to partner with them to amplify and support their efforts – because they affect us all. www.weatherenterprise.org

GWC is global; our contributors now represent over 22 counties & the cultural issues we’re tackling via our education programs are widely shared. We’re glad for the opportunity to share some of what we’ve learned with the WMO audience.

It’s more important now than ever that we shout it from the rooftops: We belong here. You belong here. And they will belong here, too — because we lit the torch. Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science. 💜
