There is a solution to underfunding hospitals, roads, NDIS, aged care, GST shortfalls for states and territories, medical research, science, the arts ... All it takes is a government with a modicum of courage. Where on earth are we going to find one of those ...? www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

abc.net.auNorway and Alaska can tax their resources well, why can't Australia?Does Australia have a resource tax problem? A think tank says the nation is losing billions in potential revenue.

Santos admits it'll make about $3.5 billion in additional profit because the war in the Middle East means it's been able to charge more for gas. And guess how much extra company tax it's paid? Zero. Yep, 11 years in a row of paying zero company tax. But we have to cut the NDIS ...

Ralph Babet is vile. Today he asked his first Senate question in six months. More pro-Putin muck. Penny Wong: "You want to stand with President Putin. That is a shameful position. (He) takes six months ... to do some work ... continues to pull his salary whilst posting his holiday pics."

Remember this next time you hear the industry's lies about how much they contribute. #taxgas

The latest corporate tax data just dropped. And congrats to Santos Ltd - 11yrs in a row of no company tax.

The White House Press Corps' decision to "boycott" Trump by covering him without audio is doing him a favour. He's far less annoying when you can't hear what he's gibbering about. Just don't cover the orange clown at all.

So, One Nation's Vic leader is a meth user and pervert. Oh, and their super "policy" was never modelled. Yeah, their people and dot points (they call them policies) were always going to live up to scrutiny 😁

Ah, the old flag distraction. And it's been dutifully swallowed up by the media. For the record, I would never burn the flag. I'd change it in a heartbeat. After that, instead of burn the old ones, I'd make dog beds out them.

This is one of the bravest things I've ever seen a politician do. Jacqui Lambie tells the Senate the injury which ended her military career was just the beginning of her health hell.

Sarah Hanson-Young has absolutely shredded Angus Taylor for turning into Albanese’s “lapdog” & capitulating on gambling reform “How pathetic! What an absolute stitch up!”💥 “Angus Taylor looks more like Toto, than he does the leader of the Opposition”🔥 Brutal stuff.

David Shoebridge rips into the major parties for “meeting in dark rooms” with their “One Nation mates” to give gas corps a free ride despite their “wartime profits” while “cutting the deal to drive 160,000 ppl off the NDIS”💥 #auspol

Which is more pathetic ... Dave Hughes' mindless bleating on social media ... or Dave Hughes trying to be serious, giving a PRESS CONFERENCE at a Liberal event? I suppose it's too much to ask of a journalist dispatched to cover this "story" to actually fact check some of his bullshit?

David Shoebridge unloads on Labor/ON/LNP for yet again joining forces to block a gas export tax & says it’s time to “replace Labor” — not with parties who “wander off to some Sicilian resort with the billionaire class”🔥 but with the only party who stands up to them, The Greens.

News Corpse has failed in its attempt to beat this into a story. Pity. Aussie soccer fans in Seattle chanting ... "Aussies on a bender ... Trump's a sex offender". Truth, as they say, is a defence.

I've never really been into Dave Hughes' whiny style of comedy. But each to their own. However, his whining about tax is just bullshit. This 'man of the people' is a rich property investor. His social media bleating has more factual errors than a One Nation 'policy'. Spare me.

$368 billion is more than $13,000 for every Australian ... from newborn babies to 90-year-olds. But where does that figure even come from? What we do know about AUKUS makes it look like a dreadful deal. I can't help think what we don't know is even worse.

"A $368 billion program based on an unexplained one-line table, that is next level." - Research Director Rod Campbell appearing at the AUKUS Public Inquiry @rodcampbell.bsky.social #auspol

Loving the old clips of Obama being cheered as he happily, smilingly, awakenly attended sporting events ... compared to snoozing orange clown being booed mercilessly at Game 3 today. American's hate this fraudulent, sleezy, cowardly predator as much as the rest of the world.

The Athletic@theathletic.com

During the national anthem, President Donald Trump was booed by the Game 3 crowd at MSG.

The more the Herald Sun and Australian attack Jacinta Allan, the more likely she is to win in November. Any reasonable reader can see through the vitriol, misogyny and lies. Murdoch's gross tactics have backfired for years.

Not sure what kind of hockey Susan McDonald watches, but the budget papers say PRRT revenue is going backwards. Surely she isn't just parroting the gas lobby's lies again. Who needs Treasury data when you can just make sh*t up?

This headline is a disgusting lie Special Disability Trusts are not affected *AT ALL* The article even makes it clear the concerns of the bloke (a solicitor with expertise in wills and estates) in this story are not about his disabled son but his other children being able to minimize their tax!

Think about this. The Prime Minister of Australia is now openly quoting inaccurate talking points from the gas lobby. Not ATO data. Not his own government's budget papers - talking points from a bunch of foreign-owned companies taking an entire nation for a ride.

This is such a great point.

JB_AU@jbau.bsky.social

Note that property investors get grandfathered changes, but NDIS participants do not. So our Government is effectively saying property investors deserve the dignity of maintaining their current comfort levels, but people with disabilities do not.

Hume, Duniam and Wilson whining that changes to CGT and neg gearing will deny young Australians the chance to buy investment properties. Do they even know, thanks to Howard, there's a generation for whom a home, let alone a bloody investment property, is an impossible dream? Irrelevant clowns.
