Roxy Music - "More Than This"' This song sounds so good. A perfect mix. A song whose main riff is better than the chorus.

Oh, lol, that is essentially what the first comment in the YT vid says. Anyway, I probably only knew this after learning about synthesis and especially after getting into modular, about 15 years ago now.

What's crappy about the "AI slopware" discourse is that it bogs down most other discourse. Then you have the meta "talking too much about AI slopware on this forum" posts, etc., and around we go. Then we have the tweets about the forums that are being bogged down with AI slopware, and then...

The eternal classic. I have listened to this song 1,000 times and I can listen to it 1,000 more.

1985 with a Sheffield flavour.

A balanced, well-thought-out (update) response by Elektron regarding firmware modding. Paying homage to the company's roots of creativity and experimentation?

Basically, if you try all this new stuff on your hardware, it's on you. We're watching and a lot of the mods are really cool. Just don't talk about this stuff on their official forum website. Makes sense to me.

I'm sorry. I am addicted to making ambient tracks. Am I holding two keys for 10 minutes? Yes. But the SOUND is the thing! I'd rather listen to one cool sound for 10 minutes than 1,000 boring ones for 2 minutes.

VHS Head! I th8nk i only listened to th8s once. Very compelling mix of styles

Nice job on this performance. Chill vibes!

This is a recording of a live electronic performance I did in August featuring #Elektron #MachineDrum and #Monomachine. People have made comparisons with early Four Tet or Oneohtrix Point Never. Whatever it sound like, I put my whole mind and heart into it, so I hope you’ll check it out and enjoy.

On a bit of a Squarepusher trip right now. This is the sickest acid track! (Ceephax Mix)

"Planetarium," one of my favorite Squarepusher tracks from one of my favorite SP albums, Hello Everything (2006.) "Welcome to Europe" was my favorite song for a while, too.

There's a point in the song (the "bridge"? "chorus"?) at 1:41 where the harmonies are so perfect. Gives me goosebumps every time, even 20 years later. (20 years???!)

The bass, drums, srings...all of it, are perfect on RAdiohead's "Pyramid Song." Everything in the mix is perfect. It's punchy, deep, clear. Godamn, what a song.

Jeff Mills, 1995, and "Waveform Transmission" is all you had to say

The new Boy Harsher is pretty good. Previous tracks were a bit harder, darker, but this one is heartfelt.

They did implement the ability to lock scenes on the Octatrack, though. That sounds crazy!

I don't know what to say about all this firmware hacking stuff. I will say that the more the thing becomes other things, the less special it feels.

Always happy to see more color/theme customizations

REAPER v7.81 is out now! New color picker, with realtime preview, built-in palettes, project palette, user palettes For the Windows users: Enable experimental dark mode support in Preferences > General > Advanced #reaperdaw

btw, I hate that I have to capitalize the "L" in "AL" because somebody will think I'm talking about A.I.

I don't know how I feel about modding. I have messed with pretty much every analog synth/drum machine I've ever had and it has rarely "improved" the original product. Would I want more features on the Octatrack? Sure, but then it kinda becomes something different; something is lost.

There are always a couple that have one annoying aspect (to me) that I can't get out of my head, so they'll probably be dropped, but that's just the way it goes!
