I think I'm reaching an inflection point where I have to decide on *one project* I should focus on from here on out. And it's between the projects I've worked the longest on: TWILIGHT'S DAUGHTER, an original Epic Fantasy Horror OR AXIOM, my own superhero universe I can't afford to pursue both.

Late night #Axiom ramble: Out of all 9 sections of Nexus, the safest district *by far* happens to be the Starview District aka "the suburbs of the dimensional city". It also happens to be the least densely populated, as well as the closest to mainland US territory. Secretly most insidious, too.

There are a ton of reasons to visit Starview. Simone's Scoops, The Museum of Heroic History, some of the best schools in the whole city. But unless you take the gates, you gotta go across several MAJOR CITY sized districts to get there. And the gates are oddly *regulated*, unlike the others...

Another thing that doesn't go unnoticed - the Starview District also has the *fewest number of registered heroes* protecting it. For a city of tens of millions, worth quintillions, with an untold number of daily interdimensional visitors? None knowing why it's so defenseless makes folks uneasy.

Out of all the districts, the one named after a lost spacefaring hero seems the quietest. Emphasis on "seems" - because if you know anything about the suburbs, you know what went on behind their foundation. It's the most ordinary appearing. And appearances can be deceiving.

So I learned that I won't be able to do any actual work for another month, dependent on whether or not I get a provider number to be catalogued for caretaker work. So I'm tempted to ask for help with two weeks of groceries, which is what my first paycheck would've gone to. But... (gestures around)

Late night #Axiom ramble: One of the things I'm trying to do with Axiom is create a whole series of nods to companies and titles and genres from all around the world. For example, I have an all monster team. Full on Anti-Hero stuff. They are called THE UNNATURALS.

It's pretty clear that The Unnaturals are old school "monster hero" types. Midnight Sons, Creature Commandos, etc. I thought about putting a couple characters on it that are "monster" classification types. But in the end, I went from scratch, mostly. And some are repurposed from a Marvel pitch.

The specific reason the team became affiliated with Nexus is that the city was used as a base and scientific center in World War 2. The Echelon were there as security for the dimensional tech being developed to shorten the war. Their battle with Nazi Supers created THE BLUE HEART phenomena.

Since that day, the US Government relocated the team to the city/province Nexus permanently. Effectively making the team the official guardians of the city that is now permanently tied to several dimensions the locals have access to at all times. Well, access to *MOST* of them, anyway...

Founded in the 1920's, the team was created to be the forward face of the burgeoning first wave of super powered individuals in the modern era. While they serve in various capacities, The Echelon have done their best to stay out of conflicts unless their presence was demanded. Good *AND* ill.

Went to the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art today and it was amazing, highly recommend if you’re in Los Angeles! Wanted to start challenging myself by doing sketches in color instead of black and white
