Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

re9 was great, but grace’s parts had some rough edges. the steroid and stabilisers had almost no impact on gameplay (maybe it does on insanity).

weirdly, the shop arcadey system only shows up late game, but it shows up from the start if you run a second playthrough. I think it’s much less jarring. also i miss shopkeepers 😢

i think the re team is one of the few real AAA gamedevs still working on innovative mechanics. also the game runs great and looks great from a technical perspective. didnt run into a single bug, too.

as for leon, i have some issues with raccoon city’s level design, and certain gun zombie parts felt like re6 😱 actually this entire game feels like re6, with the split gameplay feels, and the game does suffer from both sides not having full development focus.

does leon’s gameplay require both a kick trigger and a melee trigger? i think thats a rough edge. also, devolving the game into zombie arcade with actual points to buy upgrades, not the best choice. felt like i was playing mercenary mode or something.

other than that, i love the addition of zombie archetypes, and a little bit of sandboxy gameplay within the horror. the hemolytic injectors were really interesting but enemy placement and level design made a lot of zombies pointless to permakill.

grace’s best section was the power distribution mini dungeon. it’s smart, well designed, and great horror. hemolytic injectors popped off here, with the constant backtracking.

the grace sections are full horror, so i understand that the systems for upgrades shouldn’t make you feel powerful, but why include it then? the shop was actually pitiful.

in the later levels, there are two safes where the notes with the combination didn’t have anything else on them, just the code. that was bizarre.

i hate this shit being recommended to me. i dont care!! i just wanna watch a dude wire 400 car batteries together!!!

watching fringe, it’s a bad show. it’s x files but the characters have no chemistry and the mysteries are dull.

was reading this old news story about how these people saved this orangutan from a brothel in indonesia back in 2003. but the more i look into it, it really looks like they made this shit up. im kinda losing my mind feeling like im the only one who sees that they were lying.

sure, there’s no law enforcement in indonesia, but you managed to convince 35 cops to arm themselves with AKs and venture into the jungle to save this one orangutan. also the cops somehow allowed this very violent confrontation to be filmed by a local tv crew. where’s the fucking footage then?

i think this lady wanted donations for her reservation. i think she had a little racist fantasy and shared it with vice, and now every few years, the sun or the mirror reposts it to get the tories clutching their pearls.

procreate silently scales assets down when you bring them from a larger canvas to a smaller one. why??? we were panicking that all our assets were drawn in the wrong scale for a bit 😭

weirdly, bringing an asset from a smaller canvas to a larger one keeps the pixels exact. it doesnt care about the scale of the asset itself. feels like it is some kind of misguided design choice to make it easier to import large files into smaller canvases easier?

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead. I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.

i saw the chainsaw man movie and mars express this weekend. i wonder if the swimming pool scene was inspired by jérémie périn's work on the dye fantasy music video.

been rewatching stargate sg-1. it’s not the x files, but kinda in love with the monster of the week format and low budget schlock feel.

there is a magical aspect to a good monster of the week episode. i think writing an episode of the x files could be amazing fun. you kinda know in your head what mulder would say, and how the episode would play out.

You are up to date.
