Sanded the JB Weld, blending the skull/helmet. Primed with this middle grey (RAF grey) off the advice of Adam Savage on Tested. I’m running out of time… need to paint the white bone color at the crack of dawn so I can add some detail before the contest. Why am I doing this 🤦‍♂️ #3dprinting

Looks like face-engulfing alien from Aliens; it is, however, a parasaurolophus helmet for my dog for Halloween. Waiting for glue stage to cure and then shape the edges with JB Weld stix and my rotary tool. Primer, off-white spray, Streaks and Tips and then we win the stupidest thing ever Saturday

Foundation done. Framing started. Neighbor in picture had a party to celebrate finishing their rebuild. We’re very lucky to be able to do this, though it’s a lot, you know

Very lucky after the fire, an elderly friend of my wife’s family donated their low mileage 2011 Lexus RX 350 to us that they no longer used, so I’m very grateful for that, but I am not used to paying for premium gas at seven dollars a gallon holy crap.

New zombie theory… In the event, I’m going to the playground. This thing is a bunker on stilts, with a maze for an entrance. Good defensive field of view. I could zip line out of there in an emergency. Reminder every day that there is still fun because there are slides

Finally started rebuilding in #Altadena #Eatonfire. Was a baby my parents tried to move from Capitol Hill to Alexandria but the builder went bankrupt and they lost a lot of money. We stayed in a friend’s basement for awhile, apparently. Took some Polaroids of Altadena today. Strange nostalgia echo

I’m in Alaska. My grandfather fought in a forgotten battle here in a place called Attu. Only cold condition battle between the US and Japan. He experienced some awful shit in Europe too, but Attu was the thing he wouldn’t talk about. I’m starting my work on understanding why.

In a land with such history as Bulgaria, I can’t help but focus all my attention on this Jimny parked outside our hotel in Sofia. It doesn’t move: it just haunts me. Sorry wife, I found my European mistress

Very sad about Sam Neil. In the weird way we’re impressionable as kids, he was an important father-type figure in my favorite childhood movie. Of course I’m referring to The Hunt For Red October. Glad to read he was unafraid of death and it wasn’t cancer that took him. RIP Sam Neil 🦖🦕

Couple fun days at both #cinegearexpo and #SoCalGamingExpo Picked up an NES emulator preemptively, signaling my confidence in restoring the old NES. Somehow blowing on the cartridge and banging the console doesn’t cut anymore 🤷‍♂️

Awesome experience being on this indie filmmaking panel at Cine Gear Expo. Thanks to RED for having us, and Warwick Thornton for a great conversation.

Big delivery from my mom/childhood. Going to need to refurbish the NES but had some success recently with my GameBoy. Can’t wait to play with my daughter. Woot! 🥳 #retrogames, #nes, #Nintendo, #n64

WIP for "Caesar" — practicing slight asymmetry in the expression. Designed and printed the armature using #blender. #b3d, #3Dprinting, #claysculpting, #sculpture, #art, #characterdesign

Reposting some artwork previously on Twitter. Here's "Super Smash Blender" -- a #blender tribute I made a few years back. Character assets are open source from the Blender Foundation, and the set dressing is Megascans. Misc. props and textures are all CC0, mostly off BlendSwap, etc. #b3d

Printed for my mother-in-law. Origin is kinda cool… from a CC0 download off a museum’s profile on Sketchfab. It’s a scan of a statue from over a thousand years ago, and I keep thinking that somehow the sculptor is still producing. Also the chip at the top left, what’s the story? #3dprinting #blender

Lost my Gibson SG and my Fender Deluxe in the Eaton fire. Sad about replacing but coming to terms. Open to suggestions? Currently considering a Fender Mustang but haven’t a a clue for the amp. According to my dog and the mirror I’m a rockstar, if that helps.

We just walked in the canyon a few hours ago. Situation when we saw the flames was drop everything and GO. Thankful to our neighbor who alerted everyone on the street before the official blast. 50/50 about what will happen. Feeling bullish. Thanks to all the firefighters 🙏

Bryce Canyon. Wow. Fun fact: apparently not a canyon by definition. Also, apparently not called Bryce by the people who lived here for 10,000 years. Glad we were able to inform them.

We stole this from somewhere, but the day after the solstice my dad and I had a tradition of always saying “have you noticed the days are getting longer?” This will be the first go around without him but tomorrow I’ll look up and say “have you noticed the days are getting brighter?”

You are up to date.
