Returns to Jfokus with an RTS game built around Git.
Branches become timelines, history enables time travel and merge conflicts can happen between buildings.

Hey @devoxx.com#devoxx, tommorow at 13:50 I'll be nerding out about something you use everyday, Git!

If you are in the market for a fun, lighthearted, and slightly informational talk, then come say hi!
How cool! You can use @samaaron.bsky.social Sonic Pi together with @intellijidea.com internal APIs to get adaptive music while you code. The music then reacts to how dangerous the method you're editing is.
No danger? Cool, calm and collected music.
A lot of danger? Pure chaos and stress!

Everyone talks about vector databases.
Few people can explain them.
@glycin.bsky.social delivers a fun, absurd, and surprisingly practical introduction to vectors, embeddings, similarity search, and the tech powering modern AI apps.

I've been working on some content for a possible new talk for hopefully @devoxx.com and/or #JFall this fall season.
Always wanted a sarcastic, unhelpful pair programmer that puts me in my place when I ask silly things 🥲
What do you think? Would you let this little one blow up stuff in your code?
There was a "History of Spring" game made by VMWare a couple of years ago where you could learn about the history of the framework in a playful way. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it anywhere 😕. Does anyone here know if it's still online somewhere? A simple Google search doesn't help me much :(
Accurate depiction of my excitement when I'm at a devoxx/voxxed event and I find out @ddoutsiopoulos.bsky.social is taking photos. Picture by aforementioned, which slaps, as they always do 🤘
Thrilled to be back in London for @devoxx.uk! Though it seems some of the orcs in the village aren’t as keen on traveling 🤔… while others are eyeing big trade opportunities between Mordor and the UK 😅.
Either way, I can’t wait!! Devoxx UK is always an absolute blast!

I've been playing with the idea of adding a radial menu in @intellijidea.com. What do people here think, yay or nay?
And if yay, what kinda shortcuts would you like to see in it?
Hey @jfokus.se . If for some reason u want to look at the code of how I used intellij as a game engine, you can find it here

Have fun!
Some people asked me where the retro explosion sounds were in the Code exploder plugin. After some initial shame of not thinking about that myself, I updated the plugin with glorious 16-bit sounds.

People really seemed to enjoy the exploding code minigame from my @intellijidea.com as a game engine talk, so I figured I should release it as a plugin.

Have fun! And if you find any bugs or have feature requests, let me know!!!
Yesterday we had the first Utrecht JUG meetup in 2025 at the new adesso Netherlands office in Utrecht.
With over 60 developers, good food, excellent taks by @glycin.bsky.social and @brianvermeer.nl followed by drinks at the bar, it was a great evening.
A couple of weeks ago Nanowar of Steel released an amazing metal song, HalloWorld.java, and I just had to turn it into a plugin. You can download it here: plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/26169...
It plays sound snippets of the song when certain keys are pressed. A preview for ya'll (fire not included)
