I find myself disappointed with my current piece. I want to talk about it, in hopes that my thoughts may help someone else. When I started this, I had a very clear vision for where I was going with it and quite grand expectations. After all, I was riding a high from my last two pieces!

And as I've progressed, it's slowly beginning to take shape. Each pen stroke feels like a step in the right direction! So, don't feel massive pressure to succeed if something isn't speaking to you. Lean into the discomfort and walk with it; you may surprise yourself with the outcome!

As a result, I found myself grappling and fighting with this piece. Trying to free its potential from the canvas and coming up after a few hours of work, exhausted and frustrated. It just isn't sustainable. So I had to try a new method, what if I accepted that this is a stepping stone?

And it's been working well! Walking with my disappointment and inviting the emotion into the process has opened the door again to fun and exploration. I'm allowing myself to get lost in subtle details that really support the work.

I thought I had leveled up, and I did! But I find myself in a space where my eye is ahead of my hand. I see the imperfections, but I'm not sure how to fix them yet. And this isn't a bad place to be; It means I'm on the cusp of a big leap forward!

Vending a few conventions has really taught me a lot and given me a bunch of new ideas for products. Thanks in part to a lot of feedback from other vendors! Really excited to be coming to the end of my commissions queue to get working in them!
