Broke down and bought Final Fantasy Resonance for the Switch. I hate Square for making me choose between a better Switch 2 version via a digital core or Switch on cart but with no upgrade path… but I’m a sucker I know.

I’m 30 hours into it and it’s my game of the year ;) I see people finishing FE and Trails and Onimusha in a week and moving on and I think to myself… it’s the journey that matter. Sending love to everyone balancing a job and a life and a love for videogames together.

What’s your favorite Fire Emblem game hack? Looking for the best games.

The 3DS may have the highest quality of games (on average) of any console. It would be close with NDS but there was a lot of shovelware on that… DS probably has the best games though.

One of the best things I’ve done for my mental health in the last year is to rediscover physical (as in paper) magazines. Chilling out and reading a magazine unplugged from the world is my yoga. Highly recommended. Any one else a physical magazine reader?

Rolling credits on Trails in the Sky the 1st with tears in my eyes. Game of the year. One of my favorite games ever. Thank-you to Famcom for remastering this and introducing it to the world again. So good.

Broke down and bought a Switch 2 today. All set up. It’s nice though I would prefer a 7” (OLED!) screen. It’s a bit too big. Looks great. Runs well. Fully compatible with my Switch games and saves. It’s not a huge difference tbh. Feels and looks quality.

Now that I’m 35 hours into Trails in the Sky 1st on my switch… a Citron patch has been released that fixes the sound issue and I can play it on my Retroid Pocket Flip 2. Do I start again..? The Switch OLED is nice but the Retroid is better…

Because I’m kinda stupid I ordered a Switch 2 and a Switch 2 Pro controller. I’m so weak.

I’ve been playing so much on my Retroid Flip 2 that when I go back to Switch or SD they seem HUGE. Hopefully the AYN Thor will have enough juice that I can leave the big machines behind. We need better Android emulators though… especially PS2 / PS3 and Switch!

Wow. Speechless. Just finished Radiant Dawn (2007) (Fire Emblem). What a game. What a story. Played it back to back with Path of Radiance (2005) a 20 yo game. I am so thankful for the emulation community for making this possible. Remakes needed!!

So happy that I finally got around to transferring copies of FF Tactics Ivalice and Skies the 1st onto my Retroid Pocket Flip 2! I bought both at launch but I don’t like playing on the Switch and now I can play them on the go on the Flip 2! Getting my Ayn Thor soon so even better :)

Decided to buy Trails in the Sky 1st for Switch and to put aside my play-through on PSP at about 20 hours in. Will look for the ROM when it becomes available to play it on my Retroid 2 as well… but happy at the massive improvements done to the game by Famicom. Wonderful.

Seems like a lot if people are playing Trails today. Kudos to those folks that can afford full price games at launch. There’s another $10-15 on top for various DLC items too!

I keep checking the rom sites but Trails 1st hasn’t landed anywhere yet. Can’t find any physical copies for the Switch yet either.

Hmmm… a friend of mine who would probably know told me that the next Steam Deck will run on ARM. Valve is apparently backing development of proton like translation for ARM chips. That’s why it’s being delayed ro 2028. Hope it’s true.

I’m playing SNES, DS, GBA, GC, Wii, WiiU, PSX and Switch games on my retroids and couldn’t be happier. I’ve rediscovered the fun that was gaming before it was ruined with service components.

Thinking of selling my steam deck. Ever since discovering the retro handheld world I’ve barely touched it. I prefer to play older retro games on my Retroids. The Pocket Flip 2 plays Switch roms well. And there’s Geforce Now for modern games… plus my PS5 and PS Portal…

Happy to add that there’s been no hate on my Bluesky feeds because I actively mute politics and political discussions. I don’t care who you voted for. I’m here to talk games :)

Fire Emblem (GBA). Also known as FE: Blazing Blade. Love it.

Just rolled credits onboard Fire Emblem Sacred Stones on GBA (played on Retroid Classic). What a great game! I will say it again, the new Fire Emblems (Three Houses and Engage) don’t hold a candle to these oldies. Trying to be Persona. Third FE finished this summer. On to FE: Blazing Blade!

Picked up Radiant Historia and absolutely loving it! There was a rerelease for 3DS (I’m playing DS version on Retroid Classic) but it is worthy of a modern HD2D re-release. Great concept and story-telling.
