Hello Bluesky, and new followers! I've had the idea to make a pinned thread of all my projects for easy reference. First, I'm a judge who you might have seen at CubeCon (all 3 years), California Cube Champs (both years), Boston Cube Party, or Steel City Cube. Second, I've designed a lot of cubes! 🧵

I won this draft with ol' reliable in artifact cubes: Naya Removal. Next week we'll be drafting my Desert #mtgcube, Amonkar: cubecobra.com/cube/about/a.... If this sounds interesting and you're free next Wednesday night, sign up to join us in the CubeCon Discord!

Shout out to the @cubecon.org online drafting group who are drafting my Trinket Cube tonight, a cube that will be featured at CubeCon! If you're looking to cube online, its a great group! cubecobra.com/cube/list/ae... #cube #mtg #onlinedrafting #trinkets

I am glad the devs know Echo feels busted with certain abilities, especially Temporal Borealis. This game rules, you should all try it! In my most recent run against the hardest available boss, I killed it super fast with the power of a skill called Blood Pact that converts team healing into damage

We released a small hotfix update with some bugfixes! Patch notes: store.steampowered.com/news/app/228...

Finally a cube event I can drive to!

Hi friends! New to bluesky, not new to #mtgcube. I'm organizing the one of the first grassroots cube events in the south: Dallas Cube Classic on September 19-20! If you've got magic-playing friends in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana, could you signal boost please? dallascubeclassic.com

I yapped about Eiganjo Drift!

Untapped Libraries@untappedlibraries.bsky.social

Joining the crew on this week’s episode is Judge Bones aka @goblingathering.bsky.social and he’s brought Eiganjo Drift, a Vehicles-themed Cube! We go deep on being inspired by cubes, pilots, and TV News Vans. Vinny & Neale talk about the Fast & Furious movies. untappedlibraries.com/episode-021-...

In the interest of transparency, since making the described changes, I have gone 0-6 in back to back events. Probably time to hang up the Welders deck 😭

After the event, some changes I've chosen to make: +1 Basic for Initiative and Assassin's Trophy -1 Lurrus, who was underwhelming, both because opponents could see it coming and because producing WW was awkward at times. This change unlocks Karn, Tezzeret, Emry, Ensnaring Bridge, and Cursed Mirror!

Here's my second article, about the first Shard, of my custom set Alara Reimagined! For anybody curious about the process of designing and developing a custom set, this outlines much of my thought process and iteration after playtests of the cards of Bant. trademagic.gg/articles/the...

I'm starting a new article series on the design of my custom cube, Alara Reimagined. While it's mostly a custom set, the reprint density and finding cards to tweak made it feel a lot like cube design. This first article is about how the project started. trademagic.gg/articles/des...

Had two cool Avatar Draft moments, just before I'll be shifting into nonstop Lorwyn drafts next week #1: Copy Hama the Bloodbender with opponent's Ember Island. The copy mills them and steals it again! #2: I'm at 1 life and opponent is at 1 card in library. They have Unagi. Wan Shi Tong for X=4.

I have once again tracked all my cube drafts for the year! I drafted 5 more times in paper than last year, but 8 fewer times in total. My devotion to Red increased slightly, and my winrate somehow remained *exactly* the same 62%. Here's a thread with some of my favorite cubes and decks of the year 🧵

And my crown jewel, my achievement of the year: A 3-0 in my first paper draft of 100 Ornithopters. I beat exactly 1 opponent by attacking with Thopter 91, and my other 5 wins were from prison locks. (If you can't tell what the alter is, it's my signature: a fish skeleton, the bones form my initials)

Final thoughts: In addition to Ball Pit and Thopters, I also enjoyed drafting a cube with unlimited Okks, and one with unlimited Gingerbrutes. 2025 felt like the year of Specific Card Matters, and it's been a fun genre to explore! Can't wait to see what 2026 has in store. Last year's thread linked.

I tracked all of my cube drafts for 2024! There are some folks out there drafting multiple times every week, but as someone who used to get in one cube per month at best, this was a huge year for me. To qualify, I had to draft with at least 6 people, and the event last 3 rounds of bo3 matches. 1/6

A story I told in another thread details my highlight cube play of the year with this deck, but every single time I draft the cube, players tell me how much they miss when Magic was like this. I'll admit I oversupport Faeries in my Museum because it's a deck I love and can't play anywhere else.

Highlight: opponent attacking me with 3 creatures, one is Resto Angel. I only have Ashiok, Bitterblossom, and a Faerie token, at 1 life. Flash in Mistbind Clique, Champion Bitterblossom. Chump with token, Clique blocks Angel, Slaughter Pact the last attacker. My turn, -3 Ashiok: Courser of Kruphix!

My top 10 cards of 2025: 1. Glittering Massif (finish cycle plz) 2. Black Mage's Rod 3. Tersa Lightshatter 4. Zell Dincht 5. Quistis Trepe 6. Ty Lee, Chi Blocker 7. Suki, Courageous Rescuer 8. Kishla Skimmer 9. Far Fortune, End Boss 10. Scorvus Ames, Crimelord

Forgot to post this before, so: I'm part of a local Proxy Vintage League, and a few weeks ago, I did the best I ever have on a Welder deck with some spicy edits. (3rd out of 28. The top 2 were BOTH Oath and Tell, the menace of our meta) I won a Josh Hass print with a super cool backstory!

This change unlocks Karn, Tezzeret, Emry, Ensnaring Bridge, and Cursed Mirror!

I also plan on adding an Elegant Parlor in place of a Plateau, and The Stone Brain specifically to try and stop Oath. The biggest surprise to me playing the event was just how little I care about Ouphe/Null Rod because they are symmetrical, and I can just Portable Hole them when it's time to combo.

Went undefeated in a paper draft of Wilds of Eldraine! p1p1 Decadent Dragon, p1p2 Gruff Triplets (neighbor took a valuable WOT card over it) I took a p2p1 Agatha of the Vile Cauldron optimistically, but didn't feel like it was better than any of these 24. Would you have run it? If so, over what?

Someone on the Arena team loves me, and decided we needed a week of Wilds of Eldraine leading up to the OM1 release. Sadly, I didn't realize this til Friday, so I jammed a dozen drafts as quickly as possible! Earned a respectable 57-28 record in my favorite draft format. Also discovered 5C Monored!

Had a fantastic time in @chriskmooney.bsky.social's Gingercube tonight. In this #mtgcube you get unlimited access to Gingerbrutes after the draft, and my deck wanted 10. Games were fast, fun, and full of Food. I would highly recommend anyone going to CubeCon next month to give it a try!

Here is the deck I drafted. After a test draft and reviewing the list, I really liked the card advantage and recursion White seemed capable of and lucky me, nobody else in the pod contested it. I was capable of aggro starts, as well as stabilizing with the lifegain cards and card advantage engines.
