Before Bucha, there was Abkhazia. On August 14, 1992, Russia 🇷🇺 and Russian-backed forces attacked Georgia 🇬🇪, starting a war that led to the ethnic cleansing and displacement of over 200,000 Georgians and an ongoing occupation — the same imperialist crimes seen in Ukraine today.

17 years ago, Russia launched its war against Georgia, with aggression starting days earlier. Shelling of Georgian 🇬🇪 villages and illegal troop deployments preceded August 7, 2008. The world must not forget how appeasing Russia in Georgia led to war in Ukraine. #WeRemember2008

#terrorinGeorgia The pro-russian Georgian Dream regime has just arrested a key opposition figure, Nika Melia — the second major opposition leader now behind bars. It’s a dictatorship in motion, eliminating political opposition. Share and spread the word.

In response to the increasing repressions of the opposition in Georgia, Poland has banned 8 representatives of enforcement authorities responsible for the violence against protesters, from entering its territory. Poland supports the pro-European aspirations of 🇬🇪 society.

Meeting with school students to discuss Georgian security & Russian hybrid warfare. Knowing the younger generation, I can say that Russia will never be able to conquer their minds and therefore, our homeland. Georgia will be free.

1/ On the night of April 8–9, 2025, parents of regime prisoners spent the night on Rustaveli Ave, aiming to prevent representatives of GD from decorating the memorial with flowers. Irakli Kobakhidze and other members of GD went to the Cathedral instead of Rustaveli.

These pictures of the heroic Georgian woman Nana Makharadze are more than symbolic. She faced russian aggression on April 9, 1989, and she’s still resisting it today. #GeorgiaProtests #Stoprussia

36 years ago, soviet russia brutally suppressed a protest against its occupation in Tbilisi 🇬🇪, killing 21, including 17 women and the youngest, just 16. We honor those who sacrificed for our freedom. russia’s imperialism will inevitably fall, just like the USSR!

Observers will be expelled for “standing in the wrong place” — Until now, they could choose the best vantage point to monitor the process. Now, election officials will have the power to restrict their movement and expel them from polling stations if they don’t comply. 4/5

The regime is potentially preparing for early parliamentary elections to secure a constitutional majority and may aim to expel Article 78 of the Constitution, which mandates constitutional bodies to take all necessary measures to ensure 🇬🇪’s full integration into EU and NATO. 5/5

With the new laws, independent observers are now banned from monitoring the verification device at polling station — This means there will be no way to verify who is voting and whose data the power usurpers are using to falsify elections. 2/5

Voter identification checks have been restricted — Opposition election commission members and independent observers will no longer be able to verify whether a voter’s personal information matches the data in the official voter list. 3/5

March 31, 1991 – The day Georgia 🇬🇪 chose its future. 99% voted for independence from the Soviet Union, reclaiming the nation’s freedom. The fight for true independence continues.

🧵Dear Georgia watchers, please help me spread the word about how Ivanishvili’s regime is working to fulfill Putin’s dream by justifying Russia’s 2008 August aggression against Georgia. 1/

Just found out that a wonderful painting from Zelensky’s cabinet with the Kremlin in flames was created by Georgian artist Sandro Antadze. A powerful symbol of two nations, one fight. Slava Ukraini! 🇬🇪🇺🇦

How did we get here, where the United States echoes the same tired excuses as russia? Annexing an independent state is indefensible. Yet when such actions are cloaked in “security concerns,” it mirrors the very rhetoric used by russia to justify its aggression.

I think, in our dangerous times, the U.S. should not be setting precedents like this. Instead, it should be standing firmly against these abnormal actions. The actions we see from russia today and could see from China tomorrow.

I want to express my gratitude to Ukrainians 🇺🇦 once again. Kazbeg Tomov, involved in torturing Georgian 🇬🇪 national hero Giorgi Antsukhelidze, just got a one-way ticket to Kobzon’s concert. Brn in hll, 0rc.

Pashynyan’s statement questioning Russia’s role in fabricating the Armenian genocide narrative is a bold step toward uncovering the truth and breaking free from Moscow’s manipulation of history.
