This is nuts. I'm trying to emulate an Android device (arm64) on a Microsoft Surface Laptop (also arm64), but they're not compatible because the Windows Host emulator is only x64!? Having to physically attach a device seems very archaic these days :(.

Google wins this week's prize for "most misrepresented Coursera course". It's a "free" course with "free" access to Gemini Pro for 3 month. Only once you're a couple of modules in is it made clear that it's free once you've paid for it!!! Poor show.

Time for bed, warm in the glow of having solved a problem that GitHub CLI couldn't. LLMs are clearly very good at digging deep, but they still lack the ability to just stand back, get a fresh perspective on software, and then come up with a creative solution. There may yet be hope for us!

"Mythos AI model could 'create vulnerabilities for security for the entire banking system'". No, that's not what's happening. The correct reporting should be "Mythos AI model could 'shine a light on vulnerabilities that already exist in the entire banking system."

This story really reeks of banking execs knowing their systems are flawed and blaming a new AI model for "creating" them, rather than just exposing them.

Anyone know why Gemini 3.1 Pro is available in GitHub Copilot Agent, Visual Studio, and VS Code but not GitHub Copilot CLI? It's not even listed in the "[Blocked / Disabled]" tab.

@itvx.com rather than ruining the flow of the game by injecting adverts before scrums, maybe spend your time improving the quality of your feed. You lag behind #iPlayer, and #discovery is streets ahead of you. Not good enough. #sixNations

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

For any (mainly) UK politicians who are clinging to X because "that's where the people are", you should at least be duplicate posting here on @bsky.app. Then measure where your audience is and actually encourage them to move away from X. You literally have an audience that listens to what you say!

Wow, a proper giant from the bike industry is retiring. I can't even imagine how many of his videos I've watched!

I tend to stay away from politics on social media, but I'm very much looking forward to what the world does with trump once his presidential veil of protection ends. I'd at least like to think that he'll never see a UK golf course again.

It's that time of the year again! I listened to 609 different artists, but 4 out of my 5 top songs were by Lari Basilio. Apparently I'm a top 2% global fan 😁. #SpotifyWrapped

Wow. BBC journalists are now not even allowed to report the censored line from my Reith Lecture, that Trump is “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” You can hear how carefully they’re forced to tiptoe around it. So chilling...

Hmm Aspire 13 and .NET 9 combo seems to be running like a dog for me at the moment (locally). 50% of the time it times out and fails to load the dashboard. Anybody else seeing this with that combo? It is, of course, possible that I've just broken something 😉 @aspire.dev

Celebrating Gerty Cori on #WorldDiabetesDay. Cori, a biochemist, co-discovered the Cori cycle which unlocked how the body regulates glucose--foundational for diabetes treatments & insulin therapy. She was awarded the 1947 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery. #WomenInSTEM

Is it just me, or does GitHub Copilot Agent not have access to .NET 10 SDK yet? It keeps downgrading my net10.0 projects to net9.0 because it can't find the SDK. #dotnetconf

I got to indulge my love of road cycling over the past couple of days. On Sunday I got to ride a bit with the amazing Jens Voigt. Then on Monday I cycled 95km to the Devon coast (including 1600m+ of climbing)!
