I love horror movies. For some reason I find them comforting. I wrote about why. There's a link to what I wrote in the comments. Have a look. (Shout-out to this handsome fellow, greatest of all Draculas.)

Larry Kudlow, continuing to debase himself and journalism, starts his interview with Trump. "I just want to begin with this thought, sir. I think you’re on a roll!" He calls Trump's efforts "Herculean." It's pitiful. Makes Hannity and Bartiromo look like Sam Donaldson back in the day.

Larry Kudlow, vamping while he waits for Donald Trump to come on the line for a 'Sunday Morning Futures' interview, is openly cheerleading for Trump and Republicans. "He is turning the momentum around!" "These dogs are back in the hunt!" Maria Bartiromo was never close to this embarrassing.

Here's this week's Watchlist newsletter. The answer is pretty clear: the truth. I wrote about all that. There's a link in the comments to subscribe and read. Have a look!

I’m watching football, which means I’m watching a lot of commercials, and so far I’ve seen one guy praised for (checks notes) placing sports bets on his phone and another guy praised for letting AI do a bunch of work for him. We are so screwed.

I see “You Can See Everything” had a big weekend at the box office. Good. It’s a genuinely great movie. Have you seen it yet? You can read my review at the link in the comments. Loved it.

This was in today’s paper. There’s a link in the comments to my review. I really enjoyed writing it, and would love for you to read it. Have a look!

In the newest episode of Valley 101, I stopped by some dive bars (imagine) along Route 66 in Arizona, including one in Kingman where, 26 years ago, a guy threatened to beat me with a pool cue. Good times! There’s a link in the comments to listen. It’s a fun one.

This was in the paper today. No one does a better job of inflating the importance of Trump than Trump, but Zacharia gave it a mighty effort. But she was doomed from the first (only) briefing. There’s a link to my column in the comments.

ICYMI: Katie Zacharia lasted 5 days on the job. She didn’t get off to a rousing start, to say the least, but what was the point of Trump hiring her in the first place? I got into all that a bit in my column, for which you can find a link in the comments. Have a look!

That was fast. Katie Zacharia fired as White House press secretary after 5 days. The obvious question, aside from what took so long, is why she was hired in the first place. There's a link in the comments to my column about it all.

Today's Watchlist newsletter. Trump balks at livestreaming an execution, then says leakers should be shot. What a world. There's a link in the comments where you can subscribe and read, if you are so moved. Thanks!

Today's movie section. You can read my 5-star review of 'You Can See Everything' at the link in the comments. And you should! You should definitely see the movie, too; I want people to talk about it with.

Hey, look, I did something I almost never do: I gave a movie 5 stars. (Only the second this year.) But "You Can See Everything" deserves every one of them. There's a link to my review in the comments. Check it out!

This was in today's paper. Tough start for Katie Zacharia. But she nailed the one requirement for the job: absolute fealty to Trump. There's a link in the comments to the column.

ICYMI: I know it’s a hard job and I assume she will get better. She can hardly get worse. But this was not good. I wrote about Katie Zacharia’s first White House press briefing. There’s a link in the comments to my column.

I wrote about Katie Zacharia's first press briefing, which did not go well. Even Trump officials were not impressed, evidently. But she knows who she has to impress. There's a link to my column in the comments.

Sorry to see that Ted Simons is retiring from "Horizon" and Arizona PBS. He was awfully good at his job (see how he handled Kari Lake's 2024 interview, for one thing). But he's earned it. There is a link to the story I wrote about his departure in the comments.

I have fun hosting the Valley 101 podcast for @azcentral.com but this was the *most* fun. I drove Route 66 in Arizona (more on that later) and stopped at dive bars, including one in Kingman where I almost got my head beaten in years ago. It was a blast. There’s a link to listen in the comments.

I loved reading “East of Eden.” I loved watching the Netflix series. And I really loved writing about it. There’s a link to my review in the comments.

I think “The Social Network” is one of the three best movies of the century. The good news is that Aaron Sorkin came back to write the screenplay for “The Social Reckoning.” The bad news is that he also directs. There’s a link to my review in the comments.

Katie Hobbs won’t debate Andy Biggs. I think she should, but whatever. Now comes Rob Schneider with a comedy bit - “comedy” - satirizing her absence. Biggs is wooden, the repetition is numbing and Schneider isn’t funny. Other than that… There’s a link to my column in the comments.

ICYMI: I wrote about the least surprising news in the world - Fox News hiring Karoline Leavitt. Same job, basically, different employer. There’s a link to my column in the comments.
