I am repeatedly driven to anger by the constraints that the UK government puts on airlines. In the last 5 days I've boarded two flights at Istanbul airport. To fly to Tbilisi I had to show my passport and boarding pass. To fly to London, there is at least a three stage procedure/

There are two checks of passport and boarding pass, one by the airline and one by a couple of security goons. Then there is a third check of the boarding card. Really lucky punters also get a hand baggage search./

Politicians will no doubt tell us that without this palaver, we would be unsafe. Prove it. It is easier for me to get a flight to China or Iran or Vietnam than to get to the gate for a flight to my hime country.

So why is the BBC on news at ten leading on a story about a single illegal migrant? What about the important stuff - such as Gaza, Trump, Ukraine, foolishness like Badenoch, Farage and so on? Is the BBC at all serious? One migrant is just a dog biscuit for Farage and his fools?
