There has been some talk about what China’s decision to tell their people to leave Israel means. China has a large information apparatus, but I don’t think that’s key to this decision. I think it means that they know this conflict will escalate. They want their people out, and not be involved.

It could be because he believes that Israel is losing the backing of Americans. Again, the people, not the government. After what happened in Gaza, there is a lot of people who no longer support Israel. It could be his way of trying to influence not only America, but other western nations.

I don’t really know. Perhaps I am completely off-base. Maybe I’m right. It doesn’t really matter much what I think, but when many think one way or another, it changes the narrative. Missiles will fly, bombs will be dropped. People will die. What do we do? Tell them to stop. No more war.

They want to step away from the conflict, which to their mind is the best path for China. All nations are facing this decision. Netanyahu has been going on TV, speaking in English, and seems to be appealing to the American people. Not the government. The people. Why?

We figured something big out with Bluesky!! 🦋 For those of you growing your following, keep reading! We’ve gotten about 11k follow requests that we’ve been vetting non stop for about a week. We’re up to 8k followers which is the 16th highest follow back rate on the platform!!! (pathetic). 🧵

A sleepless night. I decided to watch some movies. Iron Man 3, than Dr. Strange. I was flipping through my binder I’d DVD’s deciding on what to watch next. A movie caught my eye. I’ve seen it many many times, but I decided what not. The Sound of Music. /1 🧵

Never before has this movie filled me with a sense of dread. This time, it did. The weird parallels between 1930s Austria and us here in North America today, struck me with a fear that we could see, and are seeing, that political undertone the movie had. It’s quite frightening. /2

How many of us could be in the position of Baron von Trapp? Or of Max Detweiler? Or, sadly, Hans Zeller or Rolf Gruber? We can do the right thing, but we must have the courage and conviction.

We are less than a year from election time in Canada. We must ensure that we don’t allow a conservative majority. How impactful do you all think the NSICOP report in December will be? How damaging will it be for the Cons, whose leader refuses security clearance to protect his party?

This. One of the many reasons people left the other app was because of the vitriol and nastiness. Let’s work together to keep that from becoming commonplace here.

So, a question I have had rumbling about in my brain: With the upcoming transition to a Trump government, will some companies flee the U.S. to other countries? More specifically, online companies, to avoid the potential restrictions the Trump government will place.

As an example, if they go through with the idea of banning porn, will that industry leave the US for another nation? Similarly, if massive restrictions are put in place, would companies like Microsoft, Google or Amazon leave? Would Hollywood flee?

I have managed to get a good chunk of the people I have followed on the platform formerly known as twitter followed here on Blue Sky. The lack of vitriol here makes me so much happier.

So, I am now part of the #Xodus Leaving the platform formerly known as Twitter to bluer sky’s. I can also be found on Tribel and Mastodon (same handle). X has become an intolerable cesspool, even with over 10,000 accounts blocked.

You are up to date.
