Some rudimentary #dataviz for a new beta #govcon #pricing product that I've been building. I'm trying to predict salaries and leveraging in macro/microeconomic data for better insights. First pick is salaries and 2nd is unemployment

Working on some #dataviz This is something I quickly put together from the US Census. Each green dot are places where they are over 90% of people with health insurance. Red dots have less than 90% Dot size is based on total population

/3 For someone making $500k per year, because of this threshold, social security doesn’t get $40k…. Someone making a million, $102k, $10m, $1.2M. Curious what the everyone else thinks of this?

2/ Did you know that there are caps to the 6.2% that W2 workers pay, and the 6.2% that their employers pay; 12.4% if you’re self employed. That threshold for this year is $176.1k this year, which is almost $22k per person, this year. Why is there a threshold when the system is so “broke?”

1/ Ever since I was in college, in the late 90s, I’ve been hearing about how #insolvent #SocialSecurity #taxes will not be sufficient by the time I’m ready to retire, sometime in the 2040s.

So I once heard Elon Musk once say that socialism is "GDP as a percentage of Government/Private Sector." I thought to myself, I'd like to measure that... and so I did. The areas shaded in red below indicate when government contributions to GDP were greater than the private sector.

Many folks who try to get into #govcon need to know the major tenets of the FAR📚 Those are: Promote #small business as much as possible Promote #competition to the maximum extend I'd argue in the #doge era that the feds are more effiecient than the State and Local, Edu (SLED) market. Fight me!

@mcuban.bsky.social I’ve been in #govcon this 2000 and using this data for decades. I’m not certain where the media is getting their data as usaspending isn’t corroborating much of it. Made this video a few years ago for folks to do their own queries youtu.be/darU6QzJoM8?...

Wait. Have @doge and Elon just been pulling numbers from usaspending.gov ? Then releasing it as if they discovered it ? Brilliant if true. Absolutely brilliant. Fooled me. Very Trump like too. Any usaspending.gov experts out there that can tell us ?

Have you heard of a GSA MAS schedule? This where $73 💰BILLION was spent during the last #govcon fiscal year (10/1/23 - 9/30/24) Over 19K companies have one of these #GSA schedules and the predominant spending categories are in IT and professional services.

Feel so bad for little Danny on the ‘Skins recent success. Between the lawsuits, sexual harassment claims, congressional inquiries, cameras in cheerleaders locker rooms, and stealing from other #nfl owners. Such a hater!
