After former Rep. Granger missed six straight months of votes and we didn’t realize, we set up this alert. It’s for us as much as our users. We can’t know if someone is missing votes until it’s happened. _Then_ we find out why (if we can; sometimes legislators won’t say) and update the page.

Politico's Inside Congress has the first look at AGI's House rules proposals for the 120th Congress. More to come

If Democrats win control of one or both chambers of Congress in the upcoming election, that will likely have some kind of effect on what Republicans decide to do in their remaining two months of control. So many bills have not been able to pass so far that there’s a lot to choose from.

Republicans have already passed two reconciliation bills. But the prospect of a divided government in 2027 has added a sense of urgency for Republicans looking to pass GOP priorities before the end of the year.

This is odd & folks interviewed for the piece all think it could mean that Sen. Marshall is illegally using his office staff on his campaign. It could also mean that all his campaign staff are volunteers or that he didn’t think he had to try hard until the end and so expenses aren’t reported yet.

ms.nowWeeks before Election Day, Sen. Roger Marshall’s campaign still had no one on payrollAn MS NOW analysis of FEC filings finds the Kansas Republican reported no payroll last quarter, unlike most Senate incumbents of both parties.

"Mike Johnson has yet to weigh in on how the House’s legal team may defend Omar. But GOP leaders will be forced to take a side soon .. and the BLAG's [House's legal advisory group] speech-or-debate decisions have a way of unifying political foes" Interesting read: www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

politico.comThe House GOP’s imminent decision on the Omar raidSpeaker Mike Johnson has yet to weigh in on the speech-or-debate implications of the raid, though the House has sometimes taken weeks to articulate a position in other investigations.

We don’t cover elections so we too often need help understanding who’s running and what the issues are in our respective states/districts. Bolts’ guide is _invaluable_. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The US government has always given itself wide latitude to classify information, so this is probably legal. But even if it is, it’s an incredibly cynical and obviously political move to prevent any pushback on whatever they’re doing (or not doing) with Congressionally appropriated funds.

The Trump administration has classified its accounting of what happened to $300 million in military aid Congress provided for Taiwan, just days after President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House.
