Every colleague I speak to reports the same that that I'm seeing: our undergraduate students are among the most engaged and perceptive we've ever seen. #highered #thekidsarealright

I got the updated Covid vaccine on Friday and it is no joke. I’m on my SECOND day of nasty side effects. Usually it’s just the one!! As usual the cats are happy with the whole situation, but I feel like I’ve been pummeled with a bag of door knobs.

If only there were a law that said: "Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned" We could call it 18 U.S. Code § 597 - Expenditures to influence voting

Telemundo is so much better. I don't understand most of what I hear, but the energy, commitment to the sport, and the comprehensive replays are outstanding. Plus, I have a whole new sports vocabulary!! Medio Tiempo forever!

PBS News@pbsnews.org

A sizable number of English-speaking people in the U.S. are watching broadcasts of World Cup matches in Spanish on Telemundo, even though they have little idea — or in some cases, no idea — what the announcers are saying. https://to.pbs.org/4yejLrV

Again, whatever you call them, we're talking about New Deal Democrats who believe government should do things that serve people. Centrists are telling on themselves and risking more than they know with this nonsense. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

It's really telling that a bunch of Dems are losing their minds over Mamdani, who is really just a New Deal Democrat with a different name. The guy is....<checks notes>....using government to serve the people.

I don't speak Spanish, but I'm exclusively watching the World Cup on Telemundo. It's excellent. There aren't any commercials except between games and at medio tiempo. Plus their replays of goals show the whole play developing not just the shot. Highly recommended. #WorldCup #CopaMundial

This perfectly sums up my feelings.

I’m rarely at a loss for words but today I don’t have many for the enormity and the complexity of Gordon Wood’s legacy - I was inspired by his work even as I agreed with about 1/2 and was often irritated by the rest. RIP. A real one. www.brown.edu/news/2026-06...

Undergraduate honors student: “by masking forced labor beneath rotating narratives of moral redemption, technocratic employability, and administrative efficiency, the state has rendered involuntary servitude an invisible structural pillar of California’s physical and economic survival.” 🤩🔥

Shelter volunteer shift included taking in dozens of kittens evacuated from a wildfire area. Making their dinner was the most important thing I'll do all week! #cats #rescuecats #blueskycats

I don't know why I didn't immediately think of this, but for those of you interested, go read Amanda Kleintop's book about Section 4!

lucasmundus@lucasmundus.bsky.social

The Fourteenth Amendment, written in the blood of the Civil War, says in Section 4 that this is blatantly illegal: “[N]either the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States.”
