Ghost in the Cell (2026) d. Joko Anwar One I didn't get to see at this year's FrightFest. I enjoyed this a lot. The corpse sculptures are great. Brutal but still very much a feel good film. Made me smile... 🇮🇩 #Halloween26

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) d André Øvredal Letterboxd tells me that I last watched this 6 years ago. That is far too long for such a fine film. Brian Cox is excellent as the mortician. Sydney the cat is excellent as Stanley the cat. Olwen Catherine Kelly is excellent as the corpse. #Halloween26

Many folk have complained about the film’s historical inaccuracy. Well I came to the cinema to be entertained and I really enjoyed this. If I wanted ‘facts’ I’d consult a book or watch a doc. Oh and the ending is fine! 😊

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023) d. Lindsey Anderson Beer Prequel to Mary Lambert's original. It's come a long way from the cosy American Gothic feel which I love but kept me entertained. Well that's enough bad spelling for this Halloween! Time to moove on... #Halloween26

Pet Sematary II (1992) d. Mary Lambert Decent sequel with some nice moments and good soundtrack. Kittens, rabbits a big cuddly dog, it has it all. #Halloween26

Pet Sematary (1989) d. Mary Lambert Well I like the book and I like Church in this, in his various manifestations. I also like the Ramones and Fred Gwynne so it's a thumbs up from me every time... #Halloween26

Off to London to see the wonderful Carol Morley’s latest film ‘7 Miles Out’. It’s adapted from her semi autobiographical book of the same name. 🖤

Trick ’r Treat (2007) d. Michael Dougherty I'm not generally a big fan of anthology films but this one I do like. The stories are nicely interwoven and always good to look at... #Halloween26

My friend Lucy did the visuals for ‘The Fierce and the Dead’ gig tonight. We got to wear silly glasses to make everything look trippy. 😵‍💫

Pieces (1982) d. Juan Piquer Simón 'Mil gritos tiene la noche' Spanish version with English subs. Stumbles along in its own charming way! Cringe-worthy but fun at the same time. Always worth a re-watch... #Halloween26

The Screaming Skull (1958) d. Alex Nicol Starts with the producer promising to pay for the funeral of anyone who dies of fright while watching! The film is actually a very good example of Gothic cinema in the tradition of Rebecca or Jane Eyre. Thanks @craigimann.bsky.social and the folks at Eureka.
