Yesterday while visiting the residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, I came across some amazing art from A French Canadian (Franco Canadien) artist named Rosemarie Péloquin from St. Boniface, Manitoba. Felt wool busts of our former Queen Elizabeth and our Current King Charles. Amazing!

It is the time of year when the cutest Geese on the planet are being gathered into small groups and taken out onto the lake for swim training. The cuteness factor is off the charts. 1. Goslings nervously inspect the entry into the lake. 2. Gosling swims past a large painted turtle.

Indigo Buntings come to Winnipeg every spring, such a treat to find. They are also notoriously hard to find and photograph properly because of their dark blue colour. I think they are one of the hidden beauties of living in #Winnipeg. Winnipeg is in the North Central Flyway for North America.

Wood Duck are full of character, colourful and frankly, the most beautiful duck in the world. And I get to photograph them all summer long in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I am such a lucky guy.

And so it was that the “God of Cold Weather” stretched out his blue frozen penis and touched Winnipeg, making winter last for three more days. “I’ll make them love me”, he said. With an audible wince the citizens of Winnipeg pulled on their wool socks and collectively prayed for summer.

Northern Harriers, Great Blue Herons. I love Birds. I love Winnipeg. Two Harriers hunt for food and the great Blue Heron is dwarfed by seven foot tall marshland grass.

A Raven vs. A Crow. The crow is much smaller and has a shorter angular beak. A Raven’s Beak is very strong.

My most Beautiful Bird of the month award goes to: the Yellow Warbler. They nest in Canada but winter in Mexico and the Caribbean. This little one came to my window every single day and posed in this tree. Canon R8 100-500MM lens. This photo is direct from the camera no editing was necessary.
