This week at MathFusion Hub, pupils designed & built their own wind chimes while exploring the connections between Maths, art & design! They created their own mandala-inspired designs, exploring symmetry, patterns, shapes, compound shapes, angles, measurement, proportions & geometric arrangements.

In our ASN spaces & classrooms, we talk with pupils about taking a pause when emotions feel big. 💜 The STOP skill helps us practise stepping back, noticing how we feel & choosing what to do next. A small pause can make a big difference.

A huge congratulations to our talented debaters P, V, H and H, who represented Grangemouth High with fantastic confidence and skill at last week's Falkirk Schools Debating Challenge! Demonstrating quick thinking, eloquent speaking, and brilliant teamwork.💛🖤👏 👏👏

Waking up anxious can feel like your body has started the day in an emergency. Pause, breathe out slowly & focus on one small step—you don’t need to solve the whole day at once. An anxious morning doesn’t mean the whole day is ruined. Be gentle with yourself. 💛

S2 pupils enjoyed an enriching visit to the Forth Bridge Education Centre, supported by Maths Week Scotland funding. The day included a hands-on workshop & lots of team work planning, designing, and building model bridges. Teams presented their design, before enjoying a view of the iconic bridge.

And just like that… we’ve made it to the weekend! 🙌It’s been one of those weeks where Friday felt a long way away! Now for a couple of days to switch off, recharge, enjoy the little things & reset before we do it all again on Monday! 💛🖤

The MathFusion Hub continues to inspire curiosity blending Maths, Art, Music, STEM, Business and coding, giving pupils a vibrant, cross-curricular experience each week. This week was tangrams — using geometric pieces to build composite shapes that stretched their reasoning, creativity & precision.

We held our launch assembly for this year’s Youth Philanthropy Initiative for S5. We heard from last year’s winning team & one of the other finalists. Both spoke passionately about their YPI journey. We look forward to seeing the creativity, dedication, & community impact from this year's group.
