What's the rationale for 300 character post limits? This seems mostly annoying and makes following discussions more difficult with no benefit

I think a sensible response to federal government scope reductions would be to set up non-federal-government institutions with similar missions. Multi-state coalitions for science, nih, NOAA, a lot of such institutions would likely be better decoupled from Congress.

Bundling so many unique policy goals into one presidential probably made sense when there's broad consensus on scope. When there isnt, it seems better to decouple. If states are funding the programs they want, theyll have more influence relative to the coalition. Seems good.
