From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Mars' diminutive moon Phobos was long theorized as a launching point for colonization of the belt and beyond. Obsoleted by the mighty shipyards on Luna, it was mostly spared in the Collapse.

The Ghosts of Phobos are a militant faction of surviving Martian-born humans, who engage in counter revolutionary action against the Sons of the Hegemon.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. In the Solar Hegemon's fury after the destruction of Ceres, he unleashed the imperial atomics on Green Mars. It's atmosphere was stripped away, undoing the greatest technological achievement in human history.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Let me know if you want a lore explanations for sci-fi swords in the comments. Dying for verisimilitude, or rule of cool?

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Successful pirate crews barter with Federation aliens for access to advanced tech and bioengineering. It’s believed that wearing intimidating masks gives one an advantage when dealing with aliens. Works on humans too.

Once again upstaged by my arch-rival and falsely claimed #1 cat themed purveyor of TTRPG products. In all seriousness though, well deserved. @gravy.press does such good work

Thank you to everyone who participated. The quality of the entries was superb, I’m deeply honored to have been voted #1 out of such an incredible field of entries.

From the 2025 Appx. N Jam Audience Pick winner to the 2026 Appx. N Jam Audience Pick winner, congratulations @gravy.press! Well-deserved! #appxnjam #ttrpg #osr

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. The Mobile Judiciary is a private court system, issuing summary judgments against claim-jumpers, illegal salvage operations, and pirates. Judgments are carried out by their bailiffs, outfitted in the best armored exo-suits company smart-scrip can buy.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Reclaiming the derelict ships from the wars of the Collapse is a generational endeavor. For the shipbreakers of the spacers union, buying their ticket to leave ruined Sol looks like decades of hard labor swinging a demolition maul.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Nimble exo suits, powered by federation technology, are favored by corporate operators and high-end freelancers. This pattern boasts 6-axis impulse thrusters and personal shields.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. The Federation flesh farmers of 8 Flora pay real Fed Credits for fresh protein, giving crews like the Gargant Cluster Organ Stealers a reason to live up the pirate reputation.

From the Solar Ruins Field Guide. Not all pirates are bloodthirsty reavers. Some are folks brave enough to imagine Sol free of capitalism, and don’t mind breaking a few eggs along the way.

Bulky clothes have always been a huge challenge for me, and since my next project is space-suit based, I’ve been diligently practicing. It’s a bit of a divergence from my normal clean lines style, but I’m very happy with this Spacer from tonight’s drawing session.

“How did you get into TTRPGs” My best friend and I found a copy of GURPS Lite at our LGS after a Mirroding MTG draft when we were 10.

If you submitted to the Appendix N Jam, I hope you're reading and commenting on other folks submissions! It is so easy to tunnel vision on making, forgetting that the artists and writers that you admire developed their skill and crucial aesthetic sensibilities by consuming and thinking about media.

(5/?) Spell of the World-Weavers by @gravy.press Love everything Bo illustrates so I’m biased in saying it’s beautiful front & back. All the art oozes character. Worldbuilding done in such a short space is great. Excellent Pointcrawl with stellar loops and foreshadowing! itch.io/jam/appx-n-j...

1. Spell of the World-Weavers by @gravy.press An incredibly unique science-fantasy pointcrawl atop a living Mother machine ⚛ Beautiful art, just enough worldbuilding to tease the imagination, and heartbreaking text delivered offhandedly. PCs want to help these people, players know they'll die

Monday's Gravy: - Pipesong layout is nearly done - Got all the art spot assignments figured out - Added our Crews and Entrepreneurs tables (fun NPCs in there!) - Finalized the primary alteration clock

I've been trying to write one of these most every day, and done a shit job the last couple weeks... I'm not the best at posting, by which I mean I absolutely suck shit at it. I'm trying to do better!

Share the last 4 TTRPGs you played: - Mothership RPG - Cairn 2e - Old School Essentials - Shadowdark

Monday’s Gravy: Been really struggling with my demand avoidance the last couple days, and didn’t get anything done for Pipesong. I did provide detailed feedback to four different TripTech Jam 3 participants, a mothership trifold game jam. This post is for accountability: I will work today.

I’ve missed a couple today’s gravies Pipesong is coming along nicely, the layout is 90-95% full. Levi’s going to work on filling out our tables and other finishing touches.

Today's Gravy: PIPESONG work continues! - Edited the Overview / What's in this Module spread - Wrote and laid out the faction pages: Pipefitter's Union, Sunny Labs, Molvo Crime syndicate - Added phase alterations for the four Pipesong platforms - Edited Chin Molvo's (main shithead) page

Today’s Gravy: Another real job workday. Partner was out for the evening, so I was able to work on the Pipesong faction spread. I also spent a few minutes working on the “crazy board” for a Liminal Horror adventure I’ve got in the pipe, using elements cut from Beneath the Muckfort.

I turned my pretty tangle map into a functional one. There are a lot of challenges when reconciling map + keys + layout. You want related locations on the same spread, varied adjacent keys, etc. There are fewer keys on the map, but the same number in the book. 10-15 becomes 10a-10e.

There are a few empty results left to fill out, but I got 90% of the way there on our pipecrawl loaded encounter die table. The last 10% are going to be special encounters that only trigger when the Phase track has advanced. Merc killteams, refugees, outlaw unionists, rogue machines...

Reminds me of session one of Tomb of the Serpent King. Two players, a couple irl, nodded to each other, and triggered the first door trap. One miraculously survived, the other was turned into paste. Hilariously, his trinket was a gem that reforms when shattered, discovered on the next visit.

Vale Mucklemaw, who didn’t make it much past the first room in the dungeon.

Today’s Gravy: Did a ton of really hard work on the tangle map for Pipesong. I’d made a cool map, but realized that it wasn’t going to support the layout the way I wanted. I made some extensive revisions to the map layout, and grouped a bunch of locations into sub-nodes. I’ll share it tomorrow
