In the days leading up to the $3.4 billion collapse of the Bathla developer group, I got to ask the NSW Labor Building & Fair Trading Minister what the government was doing about it. Incredibly, here’s all he had to say.

I know I'm not the only one worried about this. I’ll be approaching MPs from all sides of politics to come to the table to negotiate common sense fixes so we actually get the reform you’ve all been calling for

Stats reveal mass spike in drug use, especially in NSW, over last 2 years, while border seizures and raids don't reduce supply The solutions are known, but Minns killed off the potential to progress them, despite promises 👇 www.sydneycriminallawyers.com.au/blog/illicit... @greencate.bsky.social

Today I'm moving to establish an Upper House Inquiry into pokies 💪 People in NSW lose $1.1 mil to pokies each hour, &vit's time to shine a light on the impacts of gambling harm, money laundering, industry influence and failed reform in NSW. & examine what genuine harm minimisation could look like

Now let's see if if the major parties will back it in. The gambling lobby is very powerful in this state and no doubt has been working the phones already to try and stop this going ahead. I'll let you know how it goes

It's not just the turtles in trouble. The Gwydir Wetlands should be teeming with life right now, including with more than 100 different bird species such as the endangered Australian Painted Snipe, one of the rarest birds in Australia. There may be just a few hundred Painted Snipes left in the wild.

With water being deliberately held back from the Gwydir Wetlands by the government, the birds have disappeared when they should be breeding Nearly 2,500 people have sent an urgent email to the Minns Gov. If you haven't - it's just one click! Please share to get the word out

catefaehrmann.orgSave these Turtles! Turn the Water Back On!!Right now in wetlands near Moree, turtles are being pulled from the mud as the water disappears around them. It’s an environmental catastrophe.

You will not believe what I've just seen. Hundreds of turtles stuck in the mud of a wetland in NSW that should be full of water and teeming with life. And a small dedicated team of scientists doing their best to rescue them. This is happening right now!

And it isn't because of a lack of rainfall. It's because the NSW Government stopped sending environmental water flows to the wetland a month ago - during breeding season - because a big cotton irrigator downstream has threatened to sue them if water was released and went onto his land 🤯

Victorians and Tasmanians have been given free public transport by their governments, yet Chris Minns doesn’t think we need it in NSW. Given how expensive Sydney is that’s pretty crap I reckon. It’s time for free public transport in NSW too 🚍🚊⛴️

Massive congrats to Hannah the Plumber!!! The Greens first MP in northern England after a stunning byelection win today in the UK 🥳 Hannah was up against a well resourced smear campaign by the UK Labour Party and racist fear-mongering by Reform. This result shows hope & compassion can win 💚

Ever since the horrific acts of brutality by NSW Police against peaceful protestors on Monday night, Chris Minns has backed their actions. This is very very disturbing. Here's (some of) what I said in Parliament about it.

Last night's obscene police violence in Sydney was reminiscent of what we're seeing from Trump's ICE operation in Minnesota. Yet just last week the Upper House passed a motion I moved expressing deep concerns about ICE's operations and the undermining of human rights in the US 🤔

It's heartbreaking and beyond frustrating to hear that more than 100,000 dead fish - bony bream - have been found washed up on the banks of Lake Menindee. Many more fish may have died, in this fish kill, the 7th major fish kill in the Darling Baaka/Menindee since 2018, and the second in a week.

smh.com.au“Smells pretty bad”: 100,000 dead fish wash up on lakeshoreHundreds of thousands of native fish have died in Lake Menindee amid a heatwave and blue-green algae bloom.

Mass fish kills occur mainly during heatwaves and droughts. They are becoming more frequent as our climate becomes more unstable. That's why we need to be doing much more to safeguard our rivers if they're to support life and livelihoods in the decades ahead.

Western NSW could hit 50°C today. Weather records are tumbling across the country. People, wildlife, livestock are dying. Livelihoods wiped out. Weather related disasters from an unstable climate are making things cost more. Yet Labor keeps adding fuel to the fire by approving new coal & gas 🤯

Calls to kill sharks are rubbish and irresponsible. We need to be listening to and acting on the facts, but instead we've got irresponsible and shameless sensationalism from the likes of Tony Abbott and the Murdoch Media 🙄
