Federally supported scientists predict wildfire spread, 🔥 locate harmful pollution sources, 🤧 understand (and reverse!) species’ decline, 🦅 & more! These researchers protect American people, wildlife, lands, and communities. We're sharing their stories. #SciencethatServes 🔬

In addition to submitting public comments, don’t forget to contact your representatives in Congress about the damaging proposed changes to OMB’s federal grant making rules. You can use this quick action alert:

A new proposal would take power from expert scientists, allowing politics to determine how federal tax dollars intended for #wildlife #conservation are spent. Don’t let political motives hijack help for #endangeredspecies. 🦅 https://ow.ly/26mo50ZlMe9

As a former research administrator, this is yet another shocking consequence of stripping away federal investment in sound science. NSF no longer has the capacity to investigate research misconduct in the projects it funds. So much for “gold standard” science.

The future of conservation science in the U.S. is still being written. Many thanks to the all scientific and civil society organizations willing to work together to ensure that science that benefits people and nature will survive and thrive.

Good morning! I hear a lot about fear of speaking out and standing up for science. A friendly reminder that I haven’t experienced a SINGLE blip of retaliation & science whistleblowers at 2 of 3 agencies who were retaliated against have been reinstated. Do NOT obey in advance. GET LOUD!

Don't let Canada lynx fade away! 🐾 There are only a few hundred Canada lynx left in the lower 48 states. New proposals would weaken Endangered Species Act protections, putting threatened and endangered species at greater risk of extinction. Take action: https://ow.ly/F0Fu50XL23p
