Story time. Let’s talk about the weird circumstance that led to Green Jacket Lady, and what was going through my head. I’ve never really told this whole story except to friends, but I think it’s a pretty good one, so settle in.

Getting to help build tiny home #817 with @sfnw-tinyhomes.bsky.social earlier this week was so much fun, and you get to feel like a real badass using the nail gun. These homes are such an important part of the region’s housing strategies.

My college reached out with the opportunity to “communicate regularly” with an AI chatbot. I immediately opted out, but WTF. This is one of the most disappointing things I’ve ever heard from a liberal arts institution that used to pride itself on teaching critical thinking.

Being sassy is far more fun and powerful than being nice, and neither have any correlation with how much people actually like you.

It simultaneously feels like yesterday, yet also a fever dream from a different lifetime.

What a lovely day of people saying lovely things.

These offices and the people in them did a lot of great work. I wish Zahilay the best in creating a new structure, and I hope it’s as effective as the old.

I want this every day. I don’t care about the soccer part, but the city felt so alive this morning.

The interns at work have declared that I “have aura.” So that feels pretty good. (I did have to check with them about what it means though. Perhaps that takes away a bit of aura?)

Sat next to Paul Reubens, Ray Liotta and Johnny Depp having a drink together. (Figured out later it must have been during the filming of Blow in 2001. Because these guys weren’t just hanging out, right?)

You know you can just not use AI, right? You can make a choice not to be part of this. Even if your job uses it, YOU don’t have to in your normal life. You don’t have to let your kids use it. You didn’t have it three years ago. You can just…be on Team Human. You can choose.

Oh the betrayal. (And for a cat who had gabapentin this morning, he’s not being very chill about it).

This is just plain facts.
