Everyone talks about “superhero fatigue” and wanting fewer IP driven films. Yet Digger and Wildwood, two very good and yes expensive original films, struggled to find an audience. If we want Hollywood to take chances on original stories, we have to show up and support them. Vote with your ticket!

Wildwood is an absolute masterpiece of stop-motion animation! LAIKA has taken the medium to another level. Every frame is breathtaking, and the gorgeous, seamless special effects make this fantasy world feel alive. A truly stunning visual achievement! 1/3 #AFIFest #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

But Wildwood is so much more than beautiful animation. It’s a surprisingly mature fantasy adventure with rich, fully realized characters and a story that completely draws you in. It never talks down to its audience. And Dario Marianelli’s beautiful score is absolutely incredible! 2/3

And that final battle? No spoilers, but it’s genuinely Lord of the Rings-level epic! The scale, spectacle, and craftsmanship are astonishing. Travis Knight and LAIKA have created something truly special. One of the year’s best animated films. See it on the biggest screen possible! 3/3

Now screening in my screening room 1 of my favorite vampire movies of all time: Fright Night on 4K UHD! #physicalmedia📼 #filmsky🎬 #moviesky🎥

Noticing the same hate campaign for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie that we saw for Supergirl. Always when it’s a female director and/or female led action movie. Amazing how that works!

About time! His attitude about streaming over theatrical definitely lost Netflix Noah Baumbach and David Fincher. Curious to see if Peter Rice will get Mike De Luca and Pamela Abdy to replace him? Rice, De Luca & Abdy would show Netflix is serious about theatrical deadline.com/2026/10/netf...

deadline.comDan Lin Out As Netflix Film Boss, Latest Victim In Executive PurgeDan Lin is out as the head of film at Netflix in a move that has been largely speculated for weeks, following major layoffs at the streamer.

There’s so much to talk about with You Can See Everything, but one thing I haven’t seen anyone mention is this opening shot. Nathan frames Elizabeth through the bars of the crib, subtly foreshadowing her upcoming imprisonment. Such a simple but brilliant bit of visual storytelling.

New Arrival Just added Steven Spielberg’s DISCLOSURE DAY Limited Edition 4K SteelBook to my collection! 🎬 Spielberg returning to science fiction, another incredible collaboration with legendary composer John Williams, and some great looking SteelBook artwork! tiktok.com/t/ZTfjAun8V/

There’s only so many times people will take an ass kicking and not fight back. People are tired. They’re fed up. Everyone is tired of seeing the rich get richer while they can’t afford to feed their families, keep a roof over their heads etc… Vive la révolution!

Watching You Can See Everything last night with an almost sold out theater was fun. I saw it at NYFF but this was the first time for almost the whole theater I’m sure. The gasps, the muttering at certain parts is why the movie theater experience is so special. You can’t get that on your couch

If Netflix is around about theatrical this is a great hire. Peter Rice’s work at Fox Searchlight was outstanding from 2000-2009. Some of the films Searchlight released: Sexy Beast, 28 Days Later, In America, Little Miss Sunshine, Once, The Wrestler and Slumdog Millionaire among many others.

Now screening in my screening room Wes Craven’s classic A Nightmare On Elm Street in 4K UHD! #physicalmedia📼 #filmsky🎬 #moviesky🎥

They’re making Miami Vice ’85 in New Jersey. Not Miami. Not anywhere in Florida. Why? Tax credits. Florida once had a film incentive program, but the state legislature eliminated it, driving productions elsewhere and gutting the state’s film industry. Imagine losing Miami Vice to New Jersey?

Clayface is one of my favorite Batman villains. Had a great time at the premiere last night in Los Angeles and I’m happy to say this is a great film! It’s scary and very entertaining.

In the pan & scan (🤮) days films, especially those shot in scope, used to place the action in certain parts of the frame to make pan & scan for 4:3 easier, and now they’re starting to place it in the middle so it’s easier to crop for TikTok and Instagram.

I’m supposed to be mad that a great film like Digger lost the studio money, but fine with executives at that same studio pocketing hundreds of millions because of this merger? Investing in filmmaking is the problem, but making rich executives richer is ok? www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/bus...

Very disappointing. I loved 13th & I have been looking forward to seeing 14th later this month at AFI Fest now I’m not sure I will. Gen AI should never be used in film bland especially not in documentaries. I don’t understand why these talented filmmakers are using it decider.com/2026/10/09/a...

#Artificial is an intimate character study told on a massive scale. Luca Guadagnino takes the people behind technology that could reshape the world and makes the story feel incredibly personal, funny, uncomfortable and increasingly terrifying. 1/4 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

Artificial is the real sequel to The Social Network. Ambition, ego, betrayal and people building technology that will change society except this time the stakes feel exponentially larger. 3/4 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

And somehow, Artificial is also a horror comedy. It’s genuinely hilarious until you realize what these people are actually discussing. The monster isn’t hiding in the dark it’s sitting in a conference room deciding how fast humanity should move into the unknown. 4/4 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

Andrew Garfield completely disappears into Sam Altman and Monica Barbaro is excellent as always. But Yura Borisov is the real star for me. He gives the film its heart and brings so much weight to Ilya Sutskever’s growing realization of what they’re actually creating 2/4 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

After seeing Fjord a second time, I unfortunately came away liking it even less. I understand a little more of what the movie is going for, but it still just didn’t connect with me the way I hoped it would. #NYFF64

That being said, Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve are both great. I actually appreciated their performances even more this time around. Reinsve especially continues to be one of my favorite actors working today. I just wish I liked the movie around them as much as I liked what they were doing in it

Club Kid is a great coming-of-age story about someone who probably should’ve grown up a long time ago. It’s hilarious, messy and surprisingly moving, with Jordan Firstman giving the film much more emotional depth than I expected. 1/3 #NYFF64

NYC is absolutely a character here. I worked in nightlife in NYC for a decade, so I really appreciated how authentic the clubs, promoters, guest lists, late nights and chaos all feel. And the gorgeous 35mm cinematography gives the city exactly the texture it needs. 2/3 #NYFF64

It’s incredibly impressive that this is Jordan Firstman’s feature directorial debut, especially while also giving such a great performance. Club Kid could’ve just been a funny nightlife comedy, but it becomes something much more human. One of my favorite NYC films of the year. 3/3 #NYFF64

#Behemoth! is a beautiful appreciation of movie scores and the people who create and perform them. The music isn’t just background here, it becomes part of the film’s language, connecting memories, people and different moments in a life. 1/3 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

Pedro Pascal is fantastic, giving one of his best performances as a man whose entire life has been shaped by music. Tony Gilroy’s script and direction are equally strong, using the nonlinear structure and score beautifully to take us through Alex’s past and present. 2/3 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

It’s also great having Tony Gilroy making features again. Olivia Wilde and Eva Victor are excellent in supporting roles, but the real heart of Behemoth! is its love for film music and the emotional power a great score can have. A wonderful character study. 3/3 #NYFF64 #Filmsky🎬 #Moviesky🎥

There is absolutely nothing normal about Digger, and I mean that as a compliment. It’s funny, absurd, uncomfortable, visually bizarre and at times terrifying. Even when everything doesn’t completely work, I’d much rather watch something this unique and willing to take huge swings than something safe
