I see the news today is: Breathless coverage of an Anthropic bug bounty program AND Breathless coverage of agents getting around a government website paywall Begging for people (in my own profession!) to take a breath and learn how the stuff they cover actually works

Look there are very few journalists who possess the same level of tech knowledge as the turbo-brained people who work in the cybersecurity world But it doesn't help to self-deprecate to the point where we sound like utter morons. Know the beat. And if you wanna be a source, find those who do.

I have been seeing all of these posts and decided to do it myself last night, since my TV has been slow AF because of the bloatware, and even this process described in the article is a bit of overkill techcrunch.com/2026/10/19/p...

techcrunch.comPeople are using AI to make their smart TVs dumb again | TechCrunchFed up with ads, tracking, and sluggish interfaces, some smart TV owners are turning to AI agents to strip away bloatware and take back control of their TVs.

Obviously it depends on your individual set, but I found a GitHub repo, fed it to Gemini, said “how do I make this work on my TV” and it was all of a 20 min process. AI does have positive use cases!

So, uh, interesting, this story got banned from r/serbia

Will get this out of the way now -- Me and my team are the *last* people who should be getting PR pitches for cybersecurity awareness month. We're aware! The audience is also aware! Bug the people/news outlets you believe are the least aware! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!!!!!!!!!

This truly is worth every second of your time.

A phenomenal moment in the Senate. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta. Smith denies it. Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury. Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland. WATCH IN FULL, UNINTERRUPTED

Reeeeeeeally straining to see why agents accessing public data sets is being described as “meddling” or “going rogue” but everyone’s lost the plot anyway so I’m gonna go crack a beer see yall Monday

I have continued down the rabbit hole and found out about Roko's Basilisk and I gotta tell you, I am so, so tired of the dumbest people on Earth being propped up as intellectual savants

I see this has been taken down but what sort of journo would I be if I didn’t Save to PDF
