Repealing the Roadless Rule is opposed by the vast majority of the American public. The USFS land that is in question belongs to all Americans and should be managed to refect that sentiment.

Oracle is trying to buy permission to emit more greenhouse gases with their natural gas powered fuel cells than Albuquerque and Las Cruces combined. Their "microgrid" is not micro and is only called that because it is not connected to the public utility grid.

This is terrible news but not too surprising. The construction of the data center has been ongoing even as Project Jupiter has not secured permits from the NM Environment Dept. for their natural gas powered fuel cells. Almost like they know they will be approved. ???

I finished sending my comments in today to urge the Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service to continue managing our roadless areas in a manner that protects their wild characteristics. Wilderness designation being the goal.

Residents from three New Mexico cities say their names falsely appeared on letters urging state environment officials to approve air quality permits for the controversial Project Jupiter data center after they were approached by canvassers for the project.

The open house format prevents organized resistance from participants. There are multiple questions and conversations going on at the same time. This is not what concerned residents asked for.

It would seem New Mexico Mining Watch has a new foe, data mining. Data centers are using up vast amounts of precious water and the energy generation used to power them is polluting our air.

Will this dashboard include information on the millions of gallons of water that will be used by data centers? New Mexico is already water stressed and will become more so in the future. You can't drink data and you can't grow crops with data. Data centers are parasites.

Las Cruces NM, El Paso Tx and Ciudad Juaerez Chihuahua all depend on the Mesilla Bolson aquifer which contains "fossil water." In other words it is not being recharged and is a finite resource. Project Jupiter would be drawing millions of gallons of fresh water from this aquifer.

Acoma LLC is applying for two separate permits for their gas powered "microgrid " to avoid pollution restrictions. Their "microgrid" will produce more greenhouse gases than Albuquerque and Las Cruces, NM combined.
