Someone debasing themselves thinking they will earn any loyalty from the narcissistic void of Trump would be a good bit, if it wasn’t a better metaphor for the current hostage situation we’re all in

Influential albums cont. Neighborhoods (Memories Of Times Past Musical Pictures Composed And Performed By):Ernest Hood(1975)

Rewatched Arachnophobia(1990) last night for the first time since childhood. An Amblin production which means it’s kind of a high production B-movie.

Like more high production than its “Jaws but spiders concept” deserves, including location shooting in those gorgeous Tepuis mountains, and a legit script and actors.

Late nineties car tunes for me: Lou Reed and John Cale - Songs for Drella Brian Eno and John Cale - Wrong Way Up VA - Trainspotting soundtrack VA - Until the End of the World soundtrack Lou Reed - New York and Magic and Loss Moby - Everything is Wrong The Cure - Disintegration and Pornography

Roxy Music - Avalon Nick Drake - All Iggy Pop - The Idiot Stooges - Funhouse Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Ragged Glory

We all saw Wildwood. It makes a sweeping Narnia/LOTR fantasia from my literal neighborhood in Portland. And it’s absolutely gorgeous to look at. Like every single frame.

If anyone gets a message tomorrow saying I made fun of this boner monitoring vampire dork…just know that I stand by it and I’d do it again.

The dude just keeps getting more normal

Was watching a British historical drama and it had a warning about brief nudity, but I feel like there should have been an extra warning that the nudity involved Winston Churchill.

That new Vivek Ramaswamy ad is possibly the worst thing I’ve ever heard about in political campaign. Like it’s got to be some kind of a record.

I know it’s the job of these rich bozos to gin each other up with bullshit, but that Shark Tank doof saying Musk is all signal and no noise is just too ridiculous.

I saw a post using Small Brown Bike as an example of an obscure band used by gatekeepers, which is especially funny to me as I went to high school with those dudes. And they started out as a silly Fat Wreck Chords type band called LESC before getting all brooding and serious.

Though saying it out loud “I went to high school with Small Brown Bike “ is a good gatekeeper line. I guess I can make fun of Turnstile now(which the post was about). I really only knew Ben though who was in my grade. Did see them more than I’ve ever listened to a recording.

My feeling is Matthew McConaughey and James Hetfield are both kind of dumb guys that said dumb things they thought were profound , but the level of over it that both of them engendered for saying them is good. Usually the type of things that get a lot of traction in this stupid country.

The sheer depravity of this moment and that fucking pathetic loser monster posting about golf courses and changing the names of states.

Wild seeing El-Sayed and AOC doing campaign stops in Upper Peninsula…places like Iron Mountain. Good on them as I bet most Democrats don’t even try.

Giving Friday the 13th a legitimate and sympathetic prequel television show is even funnier than sending him to space.

I feel like the intro to Child’s Play steals all potential scares from the movie. In case anyone needs my long percolating take on that movie.

See I would have guessed PPS did zero impact studies into the proposed school closures in the Rightsizing proposals even before it was revealed that closing one violates a state contract.

I haven’t articulated my thoughts on the Silver Rail Elementary School shooting and may never as it’s not something that deserves to be fully be understood.

But having worked for years with special education students trying to get through those emergency drills I can say that this absolutely lands on one of my very specific fears.

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

Ketamine addict with AI psychosis says he made a sentient rocket car in hopes you will continue to print him money.

Funny that I mentioned the “The” eighties horror remake triumvirate(Fly,Blob, and Thing)just today because I finally saw the new Resident Evil and man does it seem completely in the vein of those flicks. I had a blast.

The Blob(1988) is on Tubi. Part of the triumvirate of gnarly, cynical, and ruthless fifties remakes(alongside The Fly and The Thing) that appeared in the eighties and then just lurked on cable to horrify young me.

A horror classic if you need one for this month (though be warned it doesn’t play nice). Dark synth soundtrack by krautrock legend Michael Hoenig.

Everyone fortunately missed my impression of Scott Walker singing the Malcolm in the Middle theme that I performed this morning while preparing breakfast.
