My other birthday wish is to see your favorite photo of your cat. You don’t have to be following me, if you happen to see this I still want to see your cat. 😂 Realistically, there is never not a day I wish to see your cat, but I feel like I’m allowed to be a little more demanding about it today.

Hi, it is my birthday today and I would like to humbly request a photoshop of my goofy little man onto the cover of this specific issue of National Geographic, please & thank you. (do not feed my cat to AI)

Nine is not enough, but it’s a start! Maybe I’ll do a second one. I really need Subnautica, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Baldur’s Gate 3, and EcoQuest: the Search for Cetus to be on there. OH and the PF Magic Petz games and Creatures!! my9games.net

Little man is safely in LA with Michele now and I have once again made a trip to Palmdale and back without getting lost in the desert at two AM. 😂

Helped a friend find rescue placement for a kitten with a complex medical condition (hydrocephalus). I’ll be transporting him to LA tomorrow, but he’s so cute I almost cried when I opened the box from the shelter. 🥹

lol the house is having electrical problems now and I thought it was a cat fountain with a wire short last night but the fridge has been out and the catio lights are flipping out. Food’s all warm, moved what is salvageable to the garage fridge. Breaker’s off to that part of the house for now.

Made the mistake of calling Mom to get some advice from Dad about the fridge and she asked if I was coming home for Christmas and I mentioned how hurt I was that she hasn’t visited in ten years and I really wanted them to meet my dog but now he’s gone and she fucking laughed at me.

Birthday’s in a week. The last few years and this one in particular have been so hard, it’s difficult to dredge up any degree of excitement.

this stuff done when Chris can’t be home because of work, and I can’t really do a lot of labor intensive work until my neck is fixed somehow. I’m just really tired and burnt out. I feel like I’ve been disassociating for a year straight after finding out how bad the situation with my spine is.

I’m sorry if this seems really whiney, I just need to vent sometimes. I’ve been self isolating because I feel like all I have to talk about lately is sad or bad stuff no one really wants to hear. And, ideally, I need people to realize that I’m doing the best I can. 🥲

I miss my dog, my family is so dysfunctional that the recent death of my cousin turned into this entire inner family civil war, and I’m still dealing with my neck issues and an incredibly slow medical system. I miss Tokki, I miss Jolyn, we lost Phoenix and I’ve been too sad to make a proper update.

I wish we had more local help with the rescue, we had a company offer to donate flooring to us so we could tear all the carpet out ourselves and make my life way easier, but that fell through- probably because of the war and prices. We really need additional storage, too. It’s hard to get any of

We picked up wobbly toe boy and drove him to a rescue up north that we work with occasionally! I’ll share which one when he’s ready for adoption. :) He is soooooo cute.

Anyone in the Bay Area (ideally closer to Solano County) want to temp foster a young CH cat for us (Rocket and Super Furiends) so we can get him out of a situation that may be dangerous for him?

Phoenix is crashing. We had to make the decision to start him on some solid food on recommendation from our veterinarian because he started getting so dramatically upset about tube feeding that they were worried he was going to regurgitate food screaming. We think he aspirated, he has antibiotics-

and he’s in the ICU kennel with oxygen. The general consensus from our veterinary team is that this is the best strategy for now because travel will stress him out more. Fingers crossed for little dude, we all love him very much. :(

This is because he still hisses every time he sees me, then immediately starts throwing his butt up in the air for pets. Little dude is sending some very mixed signals. 😂 He’ll be moving to foster with Super Furiends after quarantine is over here.

We’ve had about eight intake requests for CH cats this past month, makes me worry we have panluek running through the local colonies.

I can't stop thinking how wrong the tech bros have understood creativity and creators. Or even just having hobbies. - Version with ALT text! Thank you @virginiaopossum.bsky.social for the help!

I am SO sick of this, like how is this acceptable? Why are tax funded shelters no longer taking cats from the public? Especially cats that were clearly pets that have been DUMPED. I had to listen to a rescuer tell officers at a national park to put a litter of kittens back INTO THE PARK because there’s nowhere for them to go and they’re supposed to go back to where they were found and no they weren’t offered TNR (because our county doesn’t have any TNR access right now-

aside from spending $300 a cat at a regular veterinarian!) and somehow I’M the extremist for thinking that is unacceptable and unfair to the cats and our poorly protected wildlife AND the park rangers? We can do better than this.

And clearly the vast majority of the public still has no idea what’s been going on with this stuff unless their yard has been flooded with cats (or even stray dogs, like down in Kern County) because every time someone is advised to try taking a cat to the shelter someone chimes in to be like “Don’t

do that they’ll just kill them!!!” Like, girl, they ain’t taking anything and haven’t in years, what are you even talking about.

animals being left on the streets and to the people who find them who end up spending weeks begging every rescue in a six hour radius for SOME sort of help. Did you know most private rescues won’t even take animals from the public? They pull from shelters because it’s safer, legally and physically.

One rescuer took in a dog from someone that ended up belonging to a man that went to prison and when he got out he broke into her house while her disabled adult son was home alone and stole the dog back. Like, there’s a reason most rescues want to be able to work directly with the shelter!

Happy October, I guess? 😂 This little dude was found in a car engine locally and he’s going to hang out in our quarantine space for a few days for Super Furiends until they have a foster ready.
