My political vibes are good right now because the dude at the valvoline changing my oil complimented my FUCK ICE shirt and valvoline guy is like most chud-coded job to have
I don’t thi k this is true of 2020, but nowadays this sort of post (richner's, i can't imagine following someone like levine to begin with) is an auto-block without question or hesitation. I'm very done pretending i have no self-respect in order to signal my feminism.
I genuinely don't know how other men on this side of the internet stew in that kind of stuff without internalizing it. Sure, skill issue, built different, whatever, i'm not doin it.
"being anti-AI is ablest" is the kind of argument that does not require trying to explain why it's wrong, it's ok to just say "no it isn't and also fuck you"
People think I’m a contrarian because I fight with the left and fight with the center, but this is the heart of it: all I really care about is the anti-fascist project. There is an enemy; my ideology is defeating him.
I like this framing, because it also captures the “let’s punish Dems who aren’t sufficiently Left” dynamic.
Folks you’re the fucking problem not just until the election, not just until a 2028 trifecta, but until after SCOTUS reform and DC/PR statehood and and and.
That sucks, but it’s where we are.
Because there are 10s of thousands of Democratic electeds in the United States, and you have positioned yourself directly into a media environment that is designed to find every statement a Democrat makes that is even vaguely transphobic as soon as it happens.
THE MENU (2022): i enjoyed this! Definitely more on the dark comedy side of things than the horror side, and not very long but still too long. Still plenty of fun to be had. Nicholas Hoult's character is the standout as a guy who's such a foodie that he will willingly go to his death for a good meal

I appreciate that the movie leans into being fully stupid and that ATJ's key to surviving is finally recognizing that Fiennes is the most pretentious dude to ever pull a SAW and simply doing a jerkoff motion at him.

Ralph Fiennes is one of the greatest film actors of all time and his performance here is excellent but also it is utterly preposterous that he's meant to be from Iowa. The dude just radiates Britishness.
obama and the out of touch elites don’t understand that for most americans, cheesecake factory is the fanciest restaurant in all history. for them, the abcs are like mozart. they think of stewie griffin as socrates. liberals must stop condescending them.
Obama: Folks say, 'Well, Abdul didn't like some of the things you did as president.' We are not gonna agree on every detail of every issue. You know who else didn't agree with everything I did? Michelle Obama. I'd say about 5 times a day she's like, 'You knucklehead! Why you do that?'
I miss stars doing voiceovers only, so I could sound smart when I said “that’s George Clooney’s voice!” Ok, maybe “smart” is an overstatement, but you get it
TALK TO ME (2023): surprised i hadnt heard more about this one. Another one where the story/themes didnt really hit me but, well, it's a horror movie and it's really fucking scary so who cares
Mia really screwed the pooch on this one. She sees what happened to riley when he used the Hand That Possesses You and then she goes "i'm gonna go use the Hand That Possesses You" and continues to make shit worse. I dunno, what if just like, threw it in the trash? It's a bad hand.

I went like fifteen minutes thinking the movie was british until the scene where they encounter a kangaroo and no one is like "what is a kangaroo doing here, in britain?" and that's australia's fault imo, it really does need to get its own goddamn accent.
Not gonna try to make any grand claims before I *really* think about it, so here are a few that stand out in my memory.
Ancient Cistern (Skyward Sword)
Tall Tall Mountain (Mario 64)
Kogoruhn - morrowind
Irithyll dungeon - dark souls 3

Is it just me or do famous actors do more movies per year than they used to. We've heard the anne hathaway jokes but like, there are three seperate movies this year that star both robert pattinson and zendaya
The trailers before You Can See Everything were probably the least interesting i have seen in years. If you think that andrew scott hamlet movie looks interesting or good i would like to talk to you about why your taste in movies is so baffling.

Though, to be clear, everyone says manchester by the sea is good but i can't look at the marketing for it without thinking it just looks like oscarbait insiration-porn slop
I think all of fielder's work would be improved by having amanda seyfried there having normal reactions to things. "The fuck you mean, your grandma drank *your* pee? There are like, layers here.:
I mean, she's guilty of being maybe the dumbest person alive (and i'm including like, trump in that assessment) and deeply, deeply naive but that doesn't reflect on her mortal soul, all her "crimes" are the result of men abusing her sub-childlike understanding of the world.
