People posting things with an unrelated cute or cool image is a way to increase visibility on certain platforms. It can be fun for people to post something about their life, and then go "and here's a picture of my cat" But now i'm seeing people post AI Slop there, and it makes me sad.

What's more I have seen AI images and video that actually was cute or cool, and took me a second to realize it is AI. I suspect the majority of people are getting to the point where they do not care. 49% of people said that they would like art less if they found out it was AI. Doomed I tell you.

tech is so wierd. this giant tech company pays another giant tech company for some services, who in turn pays the first tech company for some other set of services. it's this giant collection of corporates sitting on the same pile of money, shuffling it back and forth.

How does one simply observe and point out very real instances of transphobic public policy by this administration, and in the states without having cis people assume we are overreacting and behaving irrationally. Or even be believed. I feel rather defeated.

I have seen actual real people I know, take statements made by trans friends about things going on in the world, and then twist those statements into extremist caricatures. This is real stuff, and not from bots or anonymous people online, but from friends and acquaintances that would be allies.

I have even been told that I was accusing these cis allies of bigotry, for simply pointing out the harm that is being done - when I was assuming good faith that they simply did not know. Tone is lost in text, but anything I type is interpreted as screaming and foaming at the mouth.

How does one simply observe and point out very real instances of transphobic public policy by this administration, and in the states without having cis people assume we are overreacting and behaving irrationally. Or even be believed. I feel rather defeated.

For example: I point out that a state has ID and Bathroom restrictions, and I have had multiple instances of people being patronizing and acting like I'm afraid to go to the bathroom. I am not, I would like people to understand what is going on and how that can impact our lives.

Ever think about the fact that there used to be whackjob conspiracy theories that the government was spying on you through your television. And now it's a real thing. Except instead of government searching for traitors, it's corporations seeking out marketing data about you.

Hot take: I think that people saying "gender is socially constructed" has done more real and actual harm to to the trans community as a whole than it has ever helped anyone understand anything. In fact, I think the popularization has made people understand social constructs less

The misunderstandings about what social constructs are has become the most popular understanding of the term. And the people hearing "gender is a social construct" for the first time are starting out from the position that trans people are just a fake made-up thing to begin with It reinforces that

I think that I have settled on my opinion of strange new worlds. The silly and gimmick episodes aren't really bad... It's just we have 10 episodes in a season. For dinner I'm being given a one ounce steak, a teaspoon of potato, and an entire cake. Cake is good but I don't want that much cake.

Clinton would be in power, knowing about bush, obama, biden, trump. All the people living with their future ex. People would have knowledge of future tech, but from memory only and no prerequisite equipment to make things yet. There are some stories to be written in there.

I have had enough negative experiences pointing out transphobia, that I am now nervous to even say anything. I believe my observations are reasonable and measured. But many times now my observations have been reinterpreted into some kind of extremist version of my statement. In-person and online.

If five percent of the people at an event are cops, it makes for a bad time. Just standing in the path of people walking, and not moving, standing there trying to be intimidating. For no reason. They act like bouncers that think they need to keep people in line, not helpers keeping you safe.

Totally. It is infuriating. And transphobic people who talk about "social contagion" and acting like people are transitioning for some kind of social status. But no, this image is the reality for many

this was a meme when i was just a baby trans. it breaks my heart that the cycle has only gotten worse and the conditions more severe since then.

There's a big problem with pointing at trans men winning in women's sports or going to women's bathrooms by going "this is what you asked for, you hypocrite!" It's not hypocracy, these are slow incremental restrictions to getting rid of trans rights entirely. They have explicitly said this.

They can restrict sports and kids now, because it seems popular for those who don't have the full story. Then they have a foundation, and can build on it to erode more rights later. Trans men walking into the women's room to make a point is just reinforcing the idea that none of us should exist.

Fast forward to today, and people are talking about subreddits for people my age. They are once again filled with folks just starting out whose life experiences and issues are foreign to me. This time I relate to the 20 year olds, because I remember that. They are also decades younger than me.

My twenty-something self, in the middle of a bunch of 40 and 50 year olds talking about interactions with wives, what transition is going to do to their career, how are they going to handle child custody You have my sympathy, but I have no experience. I'm dealing with college age drama and angst
