June 7, 1990: Clyde Drexler’s first-quarter slam dunk during Portland's 106-105 overtime win at Detroit in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Drexler led the Trail Blazers with 33 PTS (13-20 FG). Bill Laimbeer scored 26 PTS (6-9 3P) to lead the Pistons.

June 7, 1988: Bill Laimbeer and Isiah Thomas hit back-to-back threes in the span of three seconds, and the Pistons take a 17-point halftime lead in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Adrian Dantley scored 34 PTS and Thomas had 19 PTS/12 AST/4 STL in Detroit's 105-93 win over the Lakers.

May 10, 1980: Julius Erving of the Philadelphia 76ers makes the first 3-point shot in NBA Finals history, with 3:22 remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 3. It was the only 3-pointer made by either team in the six-game series. The Los Angeles Lakers won Game 3, 111-101.

April 17, 2005: Detroit's Tayshaun Prince spins and slams against Cleveland. Prince finished with 15 PTS, Richard Hamilton had 19 PTS/6 AST and Ben Wallace had 11 PTS/15 REB/4 BLK in the Pistons' 90-87 win. LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 37 PTS/11 REB/6 AST. 📺 NBA Action

April 7, 1997: Detroit's Grant Hill dunks on Alonzo Mourning in transition. Hill scored 21 PTS and Otis Thorpe had 23 PTS/14 REB but the Heat defeated the Pistons, 94-88. P.J. Brown had 21 PTS/13 REB and Mourning added 21 PTS/9 REB for Miami.

April 7, 1989: Isiah Thomas of the Pistons and the Bulls' Bill Cartwright are ejected for fighting in Chicago. Thomas was fined $5,000 and suspended for two games. Cartwright was fined $2,500 and suspended one game. Detroit's Mark Aguirre was fined $2,000 for "acting as other than a peacemaker."

Early Wednesday morning in Chicago has been filled with the sound of thunder. Unfortunately, the cloud cover is so low, catching lightning is virtually impossible. Maybe later today the clouds will lift and we'll get a show like this one in the South Loop.

April 2, 1984: In the much-anticipated "Battle of the Big Men" (Patrick Ewing vs. Akeem Olajuwon), Georgetown beats Houston, 84-75, to win the NCAA Championship. The Hoyas' Reggie Williams had 19 PTS, David Wingate scored 16 PTS and Ewing had 10 PTS/4 BLK. Olajuwon had 15 PTS/9 REB for the Cougars.

April 2, 1983: This dunk by Houston's Clyde Drexler against Louisville in the NCAA National Semifinal game. Drexler finished with 21 PTS/6 AST and teammate Akeem Abdul Olajuwon had 21 PTS/22 REB/8 BLK as the Cougars advanced to the National Championship with a 94-81 win.

March 22, 1981: Philadelphia's Julius Erving dunks on Boston's Cedric Maxwell, off the feed from Andrew Toney. Erving scored 24 PTS (11-15 FG) and Maurice Cheeks added 18 PTS/9 AST in the 76ers' 126-94 win. Larry Bird scored 19 PTS and Maxwell had 13 PTS/11 REB for the Celtics.

March 21, 1992: Louisiana State University’s Shaquille O’Neal plays in his final college game, finishing with 36 PTS (12-18 FG/12-12 FT)/12 REB/5 BLK in an 89-79 loss to Indiana in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Calbert Cheaney led the Hoosiers with 30 PTS/8 REB.

March 16, 1990: This pass from Detroit's Joe Dumars to Dennis Rodman in Chicago. Dumars also scored 19 PTS and James Edwards added 21 PTS in the Pistons' 106-81 win. Michael Jordan had 20 PTS/8 REB/7 AST for the Bulls.

March 16, 1984: Hawks at 76ers = Dominique Wilkins and Julius Erving highlights. Wilkins scored 16 PTS and Johnny Davis scored a game-high 29 PTS in Atlanta's 105-102 victory. Erving had 26 PTS/13 REB/3 BLK and Andrew Toney scored 16 PTS for Philadelphia.
