Happy Italian-Chicagoan Day!

What if we threw a parade with more people getting paid by the city to keep people off the route than spectators? Hypothetically, of course.

This is my life, for varying values of “well”

Can’t help but think the reason manufacturers make platforms is so they don’t have to design from scratch every time.

Ford Charge: D-. If a charger has a card reader, IT NEEDS TO WORK Every fast charger pushed at least 210 kW, and most could push 235+ kW. I was in and out in 20 minutes or less.

You know what would help America get ahead in the space race? Immigrants

I've never seen the ball-gargling cult of Musk in as much raging disbelief until China showed they too can land rockets, most likely at lower costs. 😂 Needless to say, the $28.5 trillion "TAM" that SpaceX mentioned in their IPO docs is about to get carved up. Time to redo your DCFs. $SPCX $TSLA

What no one ever considers is: What if "investing in Red America" is just politically hopeless? Can we maybe, for once, invest in blue America instead?

Granholm's point is blunt: 70% of IRA factory announcements landed in red America — and almost nobody knew. If clean energy is going in people's homes, they need to know where it came from.

IONIQ 6 Spring 2026 report: 1,540 miles per month and ~$161 spent. Much better than $450+ with the 30 mpg hybrid. #evsky

Absolutely insane to write an *entire article* about this without once mentioning that even in the absolute depths of Chicago winter, EVs are **still cheaper** than gas!

It cost $52 to drive 1500 miles in the last month. 30 MPG vehicle? $212 at $4.25 / gallon 45 MPG vehicle: $142 Owning an EV puts those dollars back in my pocket… every month for the life of the car. #evsky

I spent something like $200 to travel 700 miles in Ireland (~$9.50 / gallon diesel) and… how is the whole country not driving EVs by now? That is roughly $28-$35 of level 2 electricity in an IONIQ 6 (at 14 cents per kWh). Fast charging over there appears to be not great but even 4x of $35=$140.

Like, obviously there's going to be some knock-on effects due to increased electricity consumption, but I think this island has enough wind for the entire European subcontinent

Today is the last day I can fast charge for free on the 2 year special Electrify America plan! 32,420 miles driven 7.32 MWh - how much energy I put into it in that time, or about 10 seconds of running the Byron Nuclear Power Plant

$3,900 - the retail cost of fast charging that much $288 - how much I actually paid, half of which involved going to Mackinaw City $952 - how much if I had charged entirely at home $3,242 - the cost of gas for 32,240 miles at 35 MPG and $3.50/gallon. The RAV4 averages 35 MPG and the old Civic, 28.

IONIQ 6 meteorological winter (Dec/Jan/Feb) results: about 33 miles per day, and efficiency ranging from 2.0 mi/kWh below 0° F to 4.5 mi/kWh on those 60° F days. #ev
