In the last midterms, Cochise County AZ (purple district, one by a Democrat in that year) refused to certify the results (based on zero evidence). Ultimately, lawsuits by the (Democratic) Governor and Secretary of State forced them to follow the law. My2026 Election Prediction:

Similar disputes will arise in many districts throughout the US in states where Republicans are in charge... and the balance of power in the House will be tied up in the courts for most of 2027 and possibly 2028.

I don't want a friggin' flying car, I want a car that shoots friggin' lasers at everyone who fails to yield, runs a red light, fails to use their turn signals, etc ...

Lanterns season 1 (HBO): I wanted to like this show, the actors were good but it was mostly joyless and only got more grim towards the end. Plus, the non-linear storytelling seemed unnecessary (if you're going to watch, start on episode 3). I'd go for a season of just Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern.

Reading has become an endangered species. Which is half the problem with American political life. Maybe more than half. If you can't read, you can't think. Then you can fall for anything. The idea, for instance, that the truth is fake news.

About a year ago, UofA vs BYU 🏈, it's tied in like the 2nd OT, Wildcats have the ball on 4th & 7, so they at least need to get 7 yards to have a chance to win, instead they throw a long shot to the corner of the end zone, overthrown, game over. Maybe they still would have lost; but terrible call!

[chyron] "Due to NFL contractual obligations we will be leaving this game to show you the Arizona Cardinals vs ..." but they couldn't break away, now could they, and for that, we thank you!! (Got to see the thrilling conclusion of the Bills vs Texans game).

I don't know if there's good evidence for the benefit of K tape—the injury recovery tape you see many athletes wearing that slightly changes how the force of a muscle is distributed. Maybe it's better than a placebo, but how do you test for the placebo effect with sports injuries?

I would suspect that its use on dogs is utterly ridiculous—on top of fur? That was one of the articles in the latest issue of thetucsondog(.com) that had me scoffing... the other was about telepathic communication with your pets.
