RIP Alan Sprints. Over the years his beers graced significant events and gatherings. For that I'll always be grateful. Undeniably part of my #BIL journey and helped my deep appreciation of old/stock ales. I was very lucky to drink from one of the few kegs of Adam at Horse Brass earlier this year.

The iconoclastic Alan Sprints of Hair of the Dog brewing died last night at 66. It is a huge loss not just for the industry, but for so many whose lives he touched. I wrote a long piece on Alan when he closed the brewery four years ago, and I’ll have a remembrance up later this morning.

A note on the news that Costco is ending their relationship with Deschutes to make a co-branded Kirkland Lager. From the start Deschutes knew this would end. I have spoken with people throughout the company, and they always expected Costco to move on-no matter how successful the beer was. 1/3

Though I haven't been drinking much Jameson since college, we had to go while in Dublin. The tour was short and sweet, cask pull was tasty. I tried the triple chestnut but sadly he tawny port Redbreast was discontinued. Distiller's reserve was 75€, I couldn't force myself to pull the trigger.
