one thing they dont tell you about making games about gay people is that you will meet people who do the same thing. and soon after your internet feeds will become full of shapely men and/or catgirls in all sorts of compromising situations. this too is game development

Now with a character quiz! What is the nature of truth and Flame? uquiz.com/tpGQtI

uquiz.comWhat is the meaning of Flame? The pyrosophers of the Dragonsbreath Empire recognize six immanent Flames: the Bright, Cold, Living, Wild, Hungry and Forging Flames. Only one can be true. Yet miracles are performed by the disciples ...

A realis mood is the grammatical form indicating truth: The fire is dying. An irrealis mood would instead indicate any other possibility. The fire might not die. The fire must not die. Let not the fire die. Pyrrealis, then, is what flint speaks to tinder. emilyzhu.itch.io/pyrrealis

So with the news of the layoffs at KO_OP, I'm officially looking for work later this fall. I'm an experienced narrative designer that's worked on both sprawling open world stories and intimate cinematic narratives, even netting some award wins and noms. More details on my experience below!

i get to wear all the hats, and by joining the patreon you fund my ability to greedily keep those hats all for myself. and then i'll write about it so you can also keep your hats. we'll have hats forever, you and i

hi, it's another patreon diary post from gyrium! this time we talk *extensively* about my process on an entire episode, from design, to writing, to art -- including a more concrete idea of our progress on EP02 (and sneak peeks) it's a doozy. be there or be square 👉 www.patreon.com/WHODUNNIT/po...

This is the Mexico story I was asking around about on this site almost two months ago! It's about games, it's about borders and circumventing them, I mention tequila once, it's neat.

while it may be hard to quantify expectations for a game like whodunnit im feeling somewhat confident ep02 is. not gonna go where at least a lot of people think

maurimo is responsible for this but i just want to say that my contribution was that there must be the yellow line or else it wouldnt look clickbaity enough. at don attico studios we pride in our strength of vision.

Who did it? They dun it! 🤯 We spoke to Don Attico about the latest news on the newest episode of WHODUNNIT. This is what they had to say:

Spelkollektivet is an amazing co-living co-working space for gamedevs. It's my home, and the reason Aqua Mundo will eventually actually get finished. We are facing eviction unless we raise enough money. If you can, consider supporting an amazing indie gamedev community here ♥

once I get to a good spot in spanish I wanna go back to latin and reawaken the four years I spent on that. then probably italian, but eventually I gotta get over to chinese, and some time after that ill have to become some sort of lich king so I can learn every other language too

i can't help but get so frustrated about how learning another language is treated in the US- unnecessary, unusual. simple curiosity in another way of life is eclipsed by a cultural emblem of nationalistic ignorance.

my dad always tells me his parents refused to teach him italian so that they might assimilate better, and now being born from that decision the perfectly assimilated american they wanted to create, i'm left as someone who could simply take everything for granted the rest of my days if i wanted

sorry nonna, but i think that just makes me a worse person! anyways i understood a story mauri said in spanish yesterday and that felt pretty awesome (fixed a typo teehee)

traveling has been a humbling experience in how often people learn another language.. and how often it's english. everywhere i've been, people are ready to accommodate my native language. my access to the world is literally paved on the backs of bilinguals.

i think one of the worst things about being in today's generations is how often we feel expected to have something to say before we've had the time to learn anything at all. if you're 20 you're not gonna have the most nuanced takes and, like, that's okay? go live and see what happens

i do truly believe in "write what you know" even though it just means it will take so long to write everything you want. that's just part of the process! i like to see it as always having something good to look forward to

there's a couple negative reviews on whodunnit for not being like ediction, and im starting to mentally prepare for the future because. well. hoo boy, none of my game ideas are the same vibe at All

there truly is a difference in approaching writing as something that is in service to the project, and writing as something that someone expects from you, and i wonder when in my career will that difference truly catch up to me
