bit of a brawler/explorer. combat felt really good, but not quite as skill intensive as I would really want. exploration felt fun and the worldbuilding was interesting. I let it auto detect the performance settings and ended up feeling like I was losing frames, so probably set those yourself
really beautiful art style, though, it was an interesting contrast with the brutality of the combat. honestly not sure about this game, my big feeling coming out of the demo was that I wanted more from the combat
you like rocket jumping? ...that's basically it. that's the game. fun movement mechanics, focus on jumping puzzles and exploration over combat. I don't really play movement shooters, so I can't say how it stacks up, but I had fun with what I played
this game is a fun little time waster. your little wizard is gonna be running across the top of the screen, while you crack packs of runes, experiment to create new spells, cook food, and a bunch of other things.
it's all very simple, so I'd say it's not something that you sit down and play so much as something you do while half paying attention to a podcast or livestream. personally, I would rather play it as a mobile game, but it's still very much worth it on pc
fuck, man. this made me feel some things. this is the sort of thing that could only be done in the medium of video games. it perfectly hit the lonely, dark, and contemplative feelings that make games stick with me for a long time.
I wouldn't call it "fun" so much as "an experience worth having" it's very melancholic, and you feel as if you're stuck in a sort of grim duty. you buy the upgrades because they're there, and they make you better at what you're doing, but it doesn't feel good to do it. easy recommend, go play it.
I did experience a few bugs during my play, one, a visual glitch the first time I used the double jump and glide ability, and once where a text box wouldn't advance, but otherwise, controls felt good, and I didn't have any issues
overall, not my style of game, but I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes farming or environment building games such as stardew valley and animal crossing
played the demo for about 40 minutes, and I had fun. it's a pretty cozy sort of gardening, sort of restore the world sort of game with a focus on creating animal habitats. including of animals that prey on other animals you have to make habitats for.
I didn't actually get into that part during my time with the demo, but it looks like you can't just put a prey habitat down and surround it with predator habitats, because the prey will just leave, and then all the habitats will break down, which makes for interesting balance mechanics
I NEED people to understand that "death of the author" is an approach to literary criticism in which the reader *does NOT consider* the author's biography/intentions/interviews when reviewing the author's work. This includes authors who are still alive.
Wanted to share the DTIYS I did for @carson-drew-it.com's 12 years of streaming.
He's a dear friend and an amazing artist, so I hope I did him justice with this~
(Swear to god, one of these days I’m going to write a Manly Book with thews and heaving bosons. Two, even! And then in the third book Manly McConan falls in love and spends half the book worrying the Nubile Sorceress isn’t actually into him.
I’ll do it. I’m crazy.)
Adorable 🤍 - probably not the most iconic scene in the book but it stuck with me because I’m a sucker for cute, domestic vibes 🤍
