For the foldable project view, you're in luck, because that's on @chrzanowski.info and he heard you and pushed an update :) The "License Generator" is a 3rd party plugin that didn't receive a commit since last year. Not sure how we could solve this..

I love how a good like 10% of the intellij plugins I have installed are incompatible with my current IDE version * foldable project view (requires build 251.* or earlier, I'm on build 262.9437.185) * gitlab projects 2020 ("marked as incompatible") * grazie pro (requires build 252.* or […]

Preventing IDE UI freezes is a collab between JetBrains and plugin authors. Marketplace now shows plugin-attributed freeze reports. 1. Enable reporting in plugin.xml 2. Observe Freeze tab on Marketplace 3. Use analyze-freeze skill by @halirutan.bsky.social blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...

There's no time to rest! While still at the airport, on my way back from Devoxx, I published a blog post about a new JetBrains Marketplace feature we rolled out! UI Freezes reports are now available for JetBrains IDEs plugin developers 👇 blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...

That was a weird issue. From "let's quickly check what's going on here..." to "hmm, nothing's obviously wrong", to "can you try this and that?", to bringing in the Platform team for an answer and finally circling back and understanding the actual issue.

An IntelliJ SDK plugin with a configurable settings pane that is Split Mode-aware is now clearer. @halirutan.bsky.social and @picimako have a short guide to handle this. TL;DR: If the Settings UI directly modifies the persisted project state, keep the related `Configurable` on the backend.

Debugging in Zig feels like an afterthought. I spent way too long getting Zig debugging to work in CLion with the ZigBrains plugin on Linux. It works now, but the path there was not exactly smooth. If you’re stuck, ping me. I can probably save you some pain.

If your plugin causes UI freezes for users, you need the right diagnostics to investigate and fix them. The easiest way to collect reports is the JetBrains Marketplace error reporter, but today it does not expose the freeze dumps it already collects. Please upvote the issue in the comment!

Many developers care deeply about IDE performance, so we turned an internal post by Konstantin Nisht into a public one. It covers the architecture behind UI freezes in IntelliJ-based IDEs, what it took to move more work off the UI thread, and the results so far. blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...

IntelliJ Platform Gradle Plugin 2.14.0 is not a casual upgrade. I’m live tonight at 9 PM CEST / 3 PM EDT on Twitch, X, and YouTube to break down the release, the breaking changes, and the features that matter. I’ll also update the Plugin Template to see what the new setup really looks like.

This is either brilliant or scary: Anthropic accidentally leaked the TS source code of Claude Code (which is closed source). Repos sharing the source are taken down with DMCA. BUT this repo rewrote the code using Python, and so it violates no copyright & cannot be taken down!

Lovely video, especially the filters in OBS for enlarging single views. I have an AmScope with a good cam wich only works with the bloated manufacurer's software. So I created a single view app using Raylib that always shows only the microscope image and nothing else.

Just released my first YT video in some time. For all my Electronics makers out there who are interested in streaming, here is a tutorial on how to set up an electronics streaming workbench. Also, keep your eye out for a few Easter eggs. Enjoy! youtu.be/d4P0vMGFwfc

After a discussion about how best to get the view of my Siglent oscilloscope into OBS, I didn't want to accept that the browser is the only option. It turns out you can use a WebSocket connection to access the RFB data directly. That means, you can implement an oscilloscope viewer natively :)

I'm all excited about the upcoming live stream next week. I love talking with Yuriy about Platform topics and the live stream is going to be lots fun.

If you build plugins for @jetbrains.com IDEs, UI freezes are among the fastest ways to ruin the UX. My colleague Yuriy will host a livestream on why they happen, how plugin code can accidentally block the UI thread, and how to avoid it. Details 👇 blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...

In the world of JetBrains IDE Plugin development, priorities shift as you gain experience. Experienced developers are 140% more likely than new developers to prioritize improvements to API documentation comments. Here are many more interesting facts: blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...

Dear Spotify, The absolute last thing I want your app to do, on any platform, is to display anything that moves. Stop reopening panels and showing me videos. Please. PS. I'll also never ever use you to listen to a podcast, so if I could just disable all of that, would be great
